To be clear I personally would much rather see TO's get paid, and in my area, we have few venues that let you run events at sensible prices and still make worth keeping amount of money. But when you go to more expensive areas it just seems to stop mathing.

Doesn't really answer the key of the question, what would you increase the ticket by? Ticket + accommodation for a weekend + travel + taking the 2/2.5 days off life (family, kids, pets) is already a strain for a lot of attendees, I don't expect much support for "and extra 10gbp so I can get paid".

Paid by whom really? I don't think anyone disagrees with the premise, but the margins on running events are razor thin, and often enough it's ran on a loss (greatly varies on available venue) so we are talking prices of tickets going way up to make any meaningful pay of it. And that's a lot to ask.

It was a good fun game to get a feel for the army, troggs trogged, the fact that dank doesn't have ward was realized the hard way, and lots of 4.0 rule reminders 😅

I mean, even a simple CSV dump would do. Selective data just leaves questions, sure you got list of evens - how about pairings? How about confirming name conflicts and consolidations and so on. Anyway, if you wanna chat, pop on woehammer discord.

Just because "data is there" doesn't equate to people knowing what data is included. From errors and mistakes, to just some other ranges and omissions, if no one can go and see "Oh, event X is missing", no idea what's really missing. How we grab data is in the repo: github.com/AidaPaul/aos...

Right, I mean with @woehammer.bsky.social we do the stats and elo. and well, we just do it entirely in public, data code, all. Can't speak for Peter, but I generally don't do any work that happens behind closed doors for stats purpose, maybe no one will check it, but it's there in case anyone wants.

I'm more curious what do you use as game source(s) as that will -greatly- very, including time periods used. Why not just open up the entire data so people can see?
