So you’re saying we MUST READ EVERY SINGLE WORD OF EVERY ARTICLE before we can jokingly reply in a way that over 250 other people got the joke and did not feel the need to lecture me? It’s A JOKE. Do you know how those work? Do you need an article with extensive footnotes and a lame headline?
comment in response to post
Again proving you don’t get my JOKE. You must be fun at parties.

And? I do not care to spend my limited time reading about researchers desire for more funding to study why dudes are sad or unhealthy or die quicker. Not when we’ve spent since basically forever ONLY STUDYING MEN, which was the point of my joke.

That’s an interesting approach! My job opened a “health center” for employees with a RN hoping it would save them $. It never really took off sadly & they closed it a few years later.

Won’t ANYONE think of the mens?!?

Little Caesars has a PIZZA PORTAL that sorta works like that.

I'm sorry for your loss. The ONLY flaw to dogs is their lives are TOO SHORT.

Read too fast and thought this was a "Tush Push"/Eagles joke somehow.

I’d be thrilled if the team red folks boycotted! More samples for ME!

I think most people that don't vote don't think about it much at all, beyond thinking it doesn't matter.
comment in response to post
As someone that remembers the Iraq war(s), it didn't make me NOT vote blue, but it made making the argument Blue is BETTER than red kinda tough for the casual voter. Def made some leftist I know feel "Why bother?" harder.
comment in response to post
Team Blue plays by the rules and thinks they will be rewarded by voters for it. Team Red cheats and wins. The end.
comment in response to post
I know why for at least several of my friends/coworkers: They don't think it matters. Which as a political junkie that's enraging and frustrating but also I live in a blue speck (KC) of a red state (MO) so I see why they feel that way. Did NOT help when team blue brought out the Cheneys.

Hate the team, not the town!

If true i doubt they care. But the player’s multiple endorsement deals tells me many big brands do not agree with your assessment.

I honestly think boomers that grew up in the age of Cronkite can’t tell FACT from PROPAGANDA on their little phone screens and trump and the repubs took advantage of that and it worked, sadly. Part of my anger about dude winning AGAIN is i’m reminded he basically took my sweet hippie mom from me.
comment in response to post
My mom (born 1950) was a hippie my entire life. In 2016 she supported Bernie, when he was “Done wrong” by the dems she voted for Stein but became a trumper, spent the next 5 years mad at everything then died from dementia. So i saw it up close. I blame Facebook stoking white grievance. Sux.

Oh man, went to a comedy show on New Years Eve and there was a lady in the front row that was a reply all and kept knocking the performer off his game and it was AWFUL for everyone. He tried to tell her to STFU and it made her WORSE. And yet she claimed to be SUCH A FAN.

My Gpa Lawrence (WWll vet, RIP) loved cardinals, he always kept his yard of feeders full and would joyfully tell me about their interspecies drama. Now when i see one, i say to myself “Hi Grandpa!” including for your post, so thx for that :’)

Searching for the Bridge here on bluesky (not yet, apparently) is how i ran across your profile. So hello, fellow good music listener! They are killin it today with tunes.

I loved his weather report posts! But sure, also his art.

My dogs ADORE my sister and i wonder how much of their instant connection is similar genes, smell, energy, vibe, whatever.

Interesting to consider. I work at a community college (staff, no one cares what i think) i do wonder about the effectiveness of the marketing focus on FB/insta which seems DEAD to students. They recently launched a TT :-/
comment in response to post
Thx. It’s tough when ya care. I went into a deeep depression after 2016 and i just can’t do let it suck me down again.

Wondered the same thing. We live near arrowhead and sometimes see/hear the B-2s go over our house.

I saw a pair of dress pants my mom bought me for my first real job interview (in 1999!) in the back of my closet last week. Just feeling the fabric, i was like WOW, they don’t make’em like that anymore!

Laurence. He was quiet but always listened. In grade school when my single mom had to work late he would take me to dinner at TacoBell and leave a tip. Best guy eva. Beautiful photo!

My Gpa (WW2 vet, RIP) always kept his bird feeder full and loved cardinals. Now whenever i see one, i think: “Hi, Gpa” :’)

“What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” REALLY pointed it out with the birthday cake. In 1996. We knew.

I used to make mix CDs for Christmas gifts and every year i’m sad i don’t anymore. I quit once everyone said “Oh, i don’t have a player anymore” but i still have a CD player in my 2013 car and bump CDs ALL THE TIME.

So different from “training wheels” on a bike.
