Saw a "Democratic strategist" say "we have to earn people's trust back." Just mind-boggling that so many don't understand how this works.
Did voters in 2024 say "I trust the Republican Party"? No. They were mad at those in power. Democrats have to get them mad at Republicans. It's not complicated.

And they weren’t facing a personality cult.
Unless Trump succeeds in breaking the constitution sufficiently to keep the media (old & new) completely onside, all indications are that he will be wildly unpopular by Jan 2026.
Too many Dems in office want to be the cool aunt and uncle instead of the parent who has to deal with an unruly child every day.
trust of working class voters while disavowing hate and inequality. It’s tricky. Anger goes hand in hand with othering & GOP plays that card well.
Inflammatory yes - but it accurately describes people who are working against American democracy and wanting authoritarian/strongman leadership instead
Plus also too, no information infrastructure to get that message out.
This despite the legacy media spinning like a top for them:
The MSM isn't going to go along, or SM. So that's they have to keep at it more than they should.

universal health care
paid parental leave
women's right to bodily autonomy
fewer tax loopholes for the wealthy/corporations
less corporate welfare
and so on...
Name one Democratic politician advocating for universal health care as part of their platform to get elected, and sponsoring legislation to make that happen.
But I'm more fighting against "why aren't Dems doing XYZ?"
A lot are. More than ever before. Start amplifying them vocally.
Anything good Biden did was a quid pro quo for something another candidate wanted for getting their votes for Biden. Cynical & ultimately worthless.
And you're right. Not one of them is in any position of power in the Democratic party. Just like the corporations want it.
Dems have been walking us towards facism, hand in hand w/Republicans
while enacting neoliberal policies for decades.
There are numerous books which have been written about this.
I say we don't want round two.
But it's no way to run things if our political system is just "how pissed off we can get people at those in power" forever and ever Amen.
The result is just incoherent governance.
This is how low we've set the bar. lol. The assignment isn't difficult. Can dems simply do this one fucking easiest thing on the planet for once?
Let Trump get eggs @ $6 a dozen on his face for a while.
Abigail Adams, letter to John Adams referring to Samuel Adams, January 29, 1797.
We just have to make sure we connect the batshit crazy policies to the name of the party.
I want solutions. I want to FIGHT FOR SOMETHING.
I don't want to use up my energy fighting against these assholes.
#BernieSanders ... he was the ticket. How do we solve our problems together... people are waiting to be asked to help.
Not snitch btw.
VOTERS need to grow some fucking brains.
Where else would voters get their info?
Were people upset about egg prices? Maybe.
Would THAT have been THE STORY if media didn't make it the fault of DEMS.
However I do have some consternation that the “zero/no trust” game might be a losing battle in the long run for Dems. “Zero sum everything sucks and I’m losing until someone else is losing harder” is a much easier msg for MAGA to sell
I think part of the issue is that “Save America!” just doesn’t resonate with people on the left as well.
We cannot disagree on if my rights are equal to yours. Disagreeing with that makes you stupid.
Voting for someone who feeds on that also makes you stupid.
We can disagree on if my tax dollars go to main st potholes or the high school gym. Totally fine.
That was my point. You make a large sweeping generalizations, you get corrected.
If you can only win a high info electorate, you might as well be a third party.
Also, voters are smart enough to figure out when Dems are playing games too.
Maybe we just don’t understand how things work in Washington
Democrats are working for us but they just aren’t getting the attention they deserve
Seems like a stupid thing to say yet the party clearly does not understand this.
And the median is already low.
Strategize accordingly.
The Republicans nearly always provide. But maddeningly, “let’s not make another huge fucking mess” is a losing message. So here we are.
Yet, "we've fixed a lot of problems and things are going well" apparently enrages the electorate, because those elections are always close enough to steal.
Call it the DOEE or something, Dept of Elon Enrichment
Trump - low prices
Kamala - high prices
It takes a shocking amount of disrespect to think "these people protesting the genocide we're funding aren't worth listening to" after all
WHEN WE SAID THEY WERE WEIRD WE WERE WINNING
Who hates me less guides my hand
Are we part of the solution or part of the problem
People actually want to know what the Democrats are doing & guess what they are working to protect us from this Dangerous & stupid administration
Garcia confirms what my critical thinking told me that they are not cooperating with DOGE or Elon but using their oversight to deter if not stop this fraudulent Department
As I would want and expect them to do
Individuals who wouldn’t ordinarily give Republicans’ policies the time of day are swept into the herd and treated like one living organism responding to stimuli coated in fear and hate
Most mob members wouldn’t respond as they do alone
No room for individual thought
Trump has perfect the art of the zeal
He demands and gets mindless obedience wrapped in fervor
He’s basic with it; doubt he even knows he’s doing it
The US needs a civil rights movement for voters.
They're just not getting the simple phrases that work for them.
"Medicare for all!" and "They're weird" gets center-left asses into voting booths.
We need a unified playbook as well to excite people
pretty ugly
Democratic strategist.
Get them mad at the GOP and watch them fail at the ballot box.

“Never before in American history have so few media conglomerates, all owned by the billionaire class, had so much influence over the public. It is estimated that six huge media corporations now own 90% of what the American people see, hear, and read," Sanders wrote.
Democrats don’t have to do a damn thing. Just don’t help Republicans. Let them own the pain they’re about to cause. It’s the only way voters will learn
@housedemocrats.bsky.social @senatedemocrats.bsky.social
We are at save our dahm country and those who live here that are not male and white!
@schumer.senate.gov @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social
The gloves have been off for a while. Dems just never really grasped who they were fighting against.
But they do have to gain leftists trust if they want our votes.
It's not hard.
It’s almost like, don’t know, they like the outcome.
You can scream "but Trump? that's stupid!" if you want, its how low-info voters have always worked
You can't pin all of this on Fox viewers, when NYT and WaPo and the L.A. Times have been trying to be 'balanced' about Trump too.

He is a social studies teacher and still didn't know. He'll never vote Dem because of abortion, but is persuadable on 3rd-party or write-in protest votes.
Cares deeply about one thing that is strongly coded to one of the major parties but can be peeled off of support from that party by sowing doubt or attacking that party's messengers?
What are the Democratic Leaders doing? @ariellaelm.bsky.social
Can help get you up to date on at least some of what they are doing
If 2016-2024 didn't make ppl mad enough to do everything they could to keep him from returning for the coupe de gras on America then its best to just save yourself

Sounds like free speech to me.
Along with “It’s the economy, stupid,” “Keep it simple, stupid” should be on every Dem’s office wall.
It’s telling we see NONE of the Republicans and TOO FEW of tge Democrats truly acknowledging this.
1/
Democrats *could* release a joint public statement.
Both are just waiting to see if they can profit from this.
It’s appalling.
2/2
I am ground level w democrats in chester county pa- where harris beat trump by ~50k.
We don’t vote mad.
We vote for better.
and a base that supports them problem, among other adjacent concerns (eg media bothsides and Republican assymetrical polarization etc)
Did I agree with or trust the tea party, no. BUT I CAN TELL YOU THEIR MESSAGE!
🤦♀️
