Does anyone know why there are extremely loud jets constantly flying over Atlanta right now

New numbers from ITEP on tax cuts in House tax bill: It’s a $79,000 tax cut for the top 1%. This is just not what America needs.

The Republican's policy will continue a decades-long effort to weaken a critical tool to prevent the hoarding of wealth from one generation to the next. www.commondreams.org/opinion/gop-...

Your regular reminder that no tax cut in the history of tax cuts has ever paid for itself.

Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are a fun combo to watch. The Fever might be for real this year.

Maybe I’m biased but the Falcons have had some of the only interesting content about the schedule release. There is too much NFL schedule release content overall.

Is it time?

It’s wild that NFL fans just don’t care about a player’s history at all. Drafting a guy with multiple sexual assault allegations would’ve been a “grand slam.”

I like when people covering sports say “he’s not getting any younger” as part of their analysis about a player. Excellent point. That’s just objectively true. If someone is getting younger then they should probably be studied.

Georgia is losing almost $300 million this year alone because of tax breaks for data centers. In 2024 our legislature passed a bill to pause the data center incentive program in order to review it. But of course Brian Kemp vetoed the bill. goodjobsfirst.org/cloudy-with-...

I think Wrestlemania could be improved if they had more product placement and ads around the ring

This framing of "dependence" is fucking propaganda. The whole point of the federal government is to build and maintain national institutions that promote public health, education, scientific advancement, etc. The implication here is that those functions are a matter of private not public concern.

This has to be the worst form of content that people repeatedly shovel out right now

Go see LS Dunes

History speaks. Europe’s lessons from a century ago can wake up and inspire our democracy…in 2025 America. Stream my hour-long special “Rick Steves’ The Story of Fascism in Europe” at www.ricksteves.com/fascism.

John Mulaney’s show is disrespecting Roswell GA

This is probably what happened to Jurickson Profar, too

The Mars Volta are playing an unreleased new album in full on their tour right now. Absolutely no one in Atlanta is reacting to it (although it does sound very good). This seems like an incredible troll.

I mean this is just pathetic in addition to all the other obvious issues

Almost hit the pitcher with this one lol

Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

NEW: Georgia’s governor promotes his Medicaid work requirement as a national model for reform. Yet the program has cost taxpayers $86M, three-quarters of which has gone to consultants, and enrolled less than 3% of the quarter-million Georgians eligible.

What is Underoath doing

Yes, but... "Why do we treat college athletes different to other college students? Why should someone who makes their money through sport be taxed differently than someone who is a very talented musician or an artist or flips burgers for their living?"

There it is

The richest person in the world is running the country and also a company that doesn’t have to pay taxes.

Photos of deportation flights released with glee. Shots of the military at the border to handle an “invasion” at its lowest levels in years. ICE posting arrest numbers (not much greater than under the previous admin) like a scorecard. As @isabelaalhadeff.bsky.social writes, fear is the goal.

remember stuff like this when they tell you that diversity means a lowering of standards

👀 Trump in remarks to the House GOP just now promises no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, no tax on overtime + an extension of the 2017 Trump tax cuts. That is, at minimum, an $8.95 TRILLION increase to the national debt for a tax bill. So far, no talk about paying down the debt.

This is what keeps me going as a Falcons fan

Rooting against the Eagles so far

Tim Kaine is really really good at this

One of those you’re going to hell sidewalk preacher guys is down by the CNN center. He told everyone that Jesus is the only team to cheer for. Notre Dame fans walking by said got in an argument with him and said they’re supposed to be on the same team.

We finally solved Atlanta traffic

The people that supposedly care about women's rights when it comes to trans people openly mock women for their appearance when they're in positions of power. These are the people that actually hate women.

Nvm

in 1977 Jimmy Carter suggested that Americans wear a sweater to keep energy costs down, and I had a Republican colleague who in 2022 would still bring it up about once a month.

The Falcons gotta go out and win this one for Jimmy Carter tonight

He had the greatest post-presidency in history. I also think about how he put his peanut farm in trust when he became president & compare that to the conflict of interest cesspool we have coming in now. RIP Mr. Jimmy. meidasnews.com/news/jimmy-c...

Is this the dumbest quote of the year?

Being a washed up conservative sports talk personality seems like such a miserable existence
