Pro-ignorance has a certain ring to it and it covers a number of issues. Shall we?

You know this timeline sucks when even the humor is depressing.

Yup. There are no likable characters in this plot. All of the blood, none of the glory. All of the stupidity, none of the laughter. A really shitty, depressing movie. I want a refund on my ticket or at the very least, unlock the friggin’ emergency exit and let me the hell out.

30 yrs ago no one with any self respect would dare to author a script with the kind of madness we are witnessing unless they were attempting to write some kind of over-the-top satire. See: Idiocracy And yet here we are. Goddammit! I have no words strong enough in my vocabulary to express my outrage.

The problem with giving people in your party talking points is that after we’ve heard the same talking point repeated from different mouths, we begin to realize it’s just a talking point - a carefully crafted response meant to cut off any further questions at the knees while they do jack all.

One guy needs to be taken down like he entered the room armed to the teeth and shooting. Unless the guy actually does that thing in a school classroom. Then they’re all standing by asking each other what to do.

You are my people. I treasure the people who were able to find the courage to tell me when they thought I was wrong or mistaken & explain why. Sometimes I was embarrassed to realize my error but I was always grateful they were brave enough to inform me so that I could do better in the future.

It is no struggle to imagine the threats, they are visible for all to see. However, a person with integrity would report the threats & step down if they felt they needed to protect their families. Falling in line because of the threats just emboldens & guarantees that future threats will also work.

Heh, they pop up everywhere. So frustrating.

This is the corruption that so many MAGA heads thought they voted for Trump to fix. Except they were idiots to believe that the kingpin of corruption was ever going to do anything more than employ the same corruption out in the open for his own means. They have no shame. A thumbs up? Oh hell no.

Surviving spouses and disabled children draw social security benefits from deceased workers even if they don’t qualify for social security on their own work record. It sounds like they are ramping up to take that money away from recipients who won’t make it without these payments.

I’m in the 25% & as long as this guy is president my discretionary spending is going way down. I give cash for gifts & tell friends & family that instead of presents I prefer time to hang out, visit with each other, play games, no presents, just presence. Takes all the stress out of special days.

Lately he seems to have a perpetual frown on his face. I wonder if he’s dying a little inside or if he has managed to tell himself a tale to justify his behavior. So many people have sold their souls to cozy up to Trump. May they spend their days in anguish and die uneasy knowing what they did.

Same. They started out laughing at the term ‘feminazi’ and everything went downhill from there. My white hot hatred of the man is on parallel with my hatred of Fox News. Together they have destroyed the souls of people who otherwise might have been reasonable conservatives.

I just fall silent when someone jumps up to defend Trump. There is no point in speaking.

The level of delusion to think that he is going to care about any of their sob stories. He only wanted votes. He’s got that now, he’s done with voters. Aren’t these people king of quotes like, “Who wants to pay for the cow when you can get the milk for free?” Sorry, he’s milked you. It’s done.

Sack lunch is a term I grew up hearing & I’m in my 60s. It’s not a new ‘woke’ term. It’s regional. To imply that we were suddenly all forced to use that term because “wokeness” is bullshit.

I’ve got a song all cued up for that happy day. Can’t wait to play it.

You can rub your food baby with pleasure and still tell yourself, “Enjoy, but this. But it must not happen again.” But also, don’t be too hard on yourself if circumstances require you to do it again.

I was a child when Nixon was elected but an older teen when he left office. I understood that he was a despicable human but when Reagan came along I was gobsmacked at what he got away with. Baby Bush made me long for Bush Sr but holy hell, Trump cleared the table & screamed “hold my beer”. He’s #1.

That’s a lot of words just to say, “We caved”

That is a recipe for some relative to call me up with an emergency that requires me to drive somewhere. So here’s to hoping nobody calls to harsh your mellow. We all need it these days.

I didn’t know it at the time but I read about it when I was researching him. (I’m a nerd who will take a deep dive if someone piques my interest.) Given his intelligence & skill he deserved it but it’s amazing a black rapper was considered in this society. “Hope springs eternal in the human breast.”

It was obvious Kendrick knows his history well & is skilled in ‘artist speak’. He’s got a new fan. Rap isn’t a style I gravitate to but I love any style of music if the artist is good enough. Beyoncé got me to listen to a country album again, I don’t gravitate to country music but she cooks!

I looked up “Not Like Us” bc of his Grammy. I was particularly interested in how he would handle that song. His cheeky grin when he addressed Drake was *chef’s kiss*. The imagery he used, the reference to 40 acres & a mule. He hit so many important points that were far beyond his beef with Drake.

I was really looking forward to that halftime show. I’m white woman in my 60’s but I took the time to look into his message & music. He did not disappoint at all. In fact there was so much going on with that performance that I had to watch it again a couple of times after the game to absorb it all.

I live in Chiefs country & was genuinely torn. Part of me wanted “my team” to win but hated the optics of the Chiefs winning with Trump in the booth. At the end of the day I loved Kendrick’s performance & I wasn’t sad that the Eagles won, hoping for another Trump snub. I was never so happy to lose.

Sound like something that needs reporting to the Government Efficiency Portal.

This fucking guy. Nodding his fake-Christian bobble head around, pretending that he represents the ‘good’ people of America. He & the whole Christian right are trying their best to make their fake Christian persecution complex real by making the rest of us despise them for their obvious hypocrisy.

There is obviously a competition between the boys in this family to see which one can be the biggest bag of dicks. Barron has finally grown up & joined his brothers to prove he too can be one of the worst men on the planet. He has a ways to go but he’s off to a fine start. A chip off the old block.

Your experience is common among a certain type of abuser. In part they know they are lying but pride is more important than their relationship with you & in part they convince themselves of their own lies. The best you can do is find family among good friends & walk away. They are crazy makers.

Goddam. This is why we need a viable 3rd party & ranked choice voting. I don’t want to vote for republican light. This is why 1/3 of the voting public just fuck off on voting day.
comment in response to post
Exactly this. This is why I’m struggling with the people who are publicly gloating & shaming people who voted for Trump & who are discovering that his policies will hurt them. Instead they should be saying, I know you didn’t vote for this, so join us & we’ll fight this together.
comment in response to post
It’s not only a temper tantrum, it’s a lie & if I were a person who voted on emotion rather than logic it would make me want to vote for anyone but the Dems who keep shitting on me for wanting something other than the choice presented. I held my nose & voted for Biden but he wasn’t my choice.
comment in response to post
Exactly. How I voted only mattered in the primary. At the general election my state was going red no matter how I voted. The only votes that matter in the general are the swing states. But keep punching Bernie supporters. I’m sure it endears the Dem party to them to hear that all these years later.
comment in response to post
The same for the Bernie people, they didn’t cost Hillary the election. That narrative is so lopsided. During the Hillary/Obama election there were actually more PUMAs (‘party unity my ass’ who refused to vote for Obama) than there were Bernie or Bust people in 2016.

It does sound like a desperate tap dance. And yet I dare not hope. I can’t bear any more disappointment just now.

Who’s going to tell him you can’t buy class? Or talent. Or social acceptance. But you can bully the shit out of people to the point they will lie to you so you won’t hurt them.

“You’re the parent of a child with disabilities, you’re bound to be more sensitive about things.” Said to me by principle of special needs pre-school when I reported abusive techniques used by PT who told me my months old baby was spoiled because she wouldn’t bear weight on her legs. She had CP.
