SolFed claims that the owners knew “at least a fortnight beforehand about the pending insolvency” but chose to keep their staff in the dark. Many workers only found out they were losing their job from social media on the morning of the announcement. freedomnews.org.uk/2025/02/14/s...

We will be out picketing again this Thursday (DM for more details). We will continue to support workers thrown to the scrap heap by the owners of Almost Famous. Staff were made redundant 3 weeks ago with zero notice- they are yet to receive a penny of thousands they are owed.

Today mutual aid is often used to describe acts of charity like giving away food to strangers. In France, during the late 18th and early 19th century, it referred to literal mutual aid. Workers would all pay into the same fund. If a worker was unemployed or sick the fund would pay for their expenses
