And people are fooled into thinking privatization means freedom/control over their money (in lieu of taxes, for example). Instead, you’ll just be forced to pay for more things that you currently take for granted and higher prices for everything else that you’re already buying.

Marlins? They don't want to spend and not sure why he'd want to play there other than the love of the game. Could maybe squint and see a niche role on the Brewers, Rockies. But if Rizzo plays like he did last year, he's likely not better than any of the meh options these teams already have.

Uh... Mariners, maybe? Maybe Raley/Rizzo at 1B/DH against RHP is better than Riley/Haniger. But also, given Rizzo's numbers the last couple of seasons, maybe not? There aren't any particularly good fits.

Oh yeah, that makes sense too. Stat/Bayne felt like it needed a little longer build, maybe a PPV stage, and probably didn't need to be on the same card as Hobbs/Bill.

Last night when Jay White was surrounded, I thought they were going to come out to reunite with him. Sadly, Cope emerged instead.

As a huge Statlander fan, I was excited for Stat/Bayne but they rushed to the match and then the ending fell flat. Presumably Stat now goes and beats Ford on a random episode of something and they run back a rematch.

20 years here. You are spot-on across the board.

Yep. I think they want the focus on Kenny/Ospreay, since they're far hotter than Moxley/Cope or Jay. The downside is, that likely means dragging the Mox/Cope/Jay stuff out another month until Revolution, only to headline then (but at least they buy themselves time to try and salvage some heat?).

Began as an "online friends" league so we are looking for someone to be active both in the league and in our little community. DM for more.

Forgot about 51-year-old Christian Cage lurking with that contract for five months.

51-year-old Adam Copeland, 57-year-old Jeff Jarrett, and, for some inexplicable reason, 68-year-old Ricky Morton are all key characters in the current main event vortex. What are we building toward? What's the end game? A more interesting, palatable champion doesn't even seem on the horizon.

Garcia winning his first title should've been a huge deal & achieving that goal a big story. Instead he faded into the CC and has been relegated to Collision (which makes sense, I guess, since it airs on TNT). Feel like he should be the workhorse, babyface defending champ like TNT champs used to be.

2. If only half your Dynamite audience is watching Collision, any story that crosses shows is going to become murky to those only watching Dynamite. Major story beats missed. Promos missed. Keeping up via video packages and social media posts only gets you so far.

The time slot has always been a problem. Two major issues with the low viewership: 1. Anything built exclusively on Collision is only watched by half your audience, so when the PPV payoff comes for those stories, your audience is less invested.

Darby doesn't feel, to me at least, like "the spirit/soul of AEW." He only makes sense to dethrone Mox because he was the guy who started all this by essentially getting tricked into losing his title shot to Mox (another example of "the babyface is actually a stupid idiot").

Weren’t the petty squabbles of OC, Hangman, and Jay sort of just… each of them wanting to be champion? The basic premise they need to unite to dethrone Moxley in the name of the company is a bit silly. They’re wrestlers. They want to be wrestling champions.

It keeps feeling to me like this entire story all along, from BCC to now, has really been about Yuta. Very recently, until they sort of dropped it, he was conflicted with guilt after doing arguably the most villainous act in AEW history. Problem is, while I like Yuta, he’s not a main character guy.

Isn't the entire purpose of a wrestling company, even in kayfabe, for there to be infighting & drama though? I'd also argue the company doesn't exactly feel like it's in any sort of danger. Aside from the plastic bag incident, they're just sort of sporadically doing standard issue wrestling attacks.

Generally agree, but also feel like one major thing that's been missing from television for months now is that babyface fighting champion (a la the old TNT runs or Orange's original International reign). Prior to the very recent Private Party/Garcia wins, every champion was a heel.

The betting favorites for the final feel like Ospreay/Okada or the inevitable Ospreay/Fletcher rematch.
Their champions have been mostly heels for a while now, so agree this might be best served to have a big babyface winner.

One big way that AEW separated itself from WWE initially is simply their schedule. They had one two-hour show per week (supplemented by YouTube stuff for the diehards) and quarterly PPVs. AEW seemed designed for diehards but with a schedule more conducive to casuals. IMO, there's too much AEW now.

I will almost certainly not know anyone from CMLL or Stardom, but this is a cool concept.

Hopefully. AEW sorely needs a baby face champion and Garcia’s the perfect guy to be regularly defending the title on TV like the old TNT days, something that’s felt missing from their shows for a while now.

The story so far lends itself to Darby, but I’m hoping it’s a red herring. The answer is always Kenny, but I think Swerve and Bobby Lashley could be reasonable dark horses.
Ugh, it’s going to be Darby, isn’t it?
