That's not how these partnerships work. It just means that OpenAI will start paying The Guardian for their human-reported articles instead of stealing them.

We better ensure they have the funds to fight off Trump's inevitable attempt to shut them down once he learns about them.

Every situation is novel. The point is that Trump is very consistent with the country's history. So to say "this isn't normal" and to expect to return to a normalcy that never existed is a misguided and fruitless strategy.

Could not agree more. We never make progress on this because asking for reckoning makes many people defensive for various reasons. When people are defensive, our tendency is to push our case harder, but what's needed is the compassion and understanding that could disarm the defense. A tall order.

He doesn't control the whole world, and we can undermine him. Criticize and marginalize the criminals he pardons, and when they complain about their free speech, call them butt-hurt snowflakes. Support and console those he persecutes, and help them find their place in the new world we're building.

Just proof that it was a backroom deal between Trump and ByteDance to let him "save" TikTok, and Biden wasn't in on it.
