Some imperfections (the rose behind the boy's left hand which looks a bit like his fingers) look kinda similar to AI generated stuff. Others, like the coloring of the girl's shoulder not being quite on the line, are distinct enough to be obviously human! Beautiful piece in any case.

Day 20: Easiest final boss fight I don't play that many games with a final boss... I remember the final boss of Kingdom Hearts 1 was very easy to beat because I had levelled up against far harder optional bosses before.

Day 19: Favorite game mechanic For me it's not about a mechanic in and of itself, but how it ties into and elevates the narrative. I love preparing a fight with potions & oil in TW3 for example because that's how a witcher works! Also environmental storytelling, if you can call that a "mechanic".

Day 6: Best World Building Easy one. Riven. Any time. Practically unparalleled in its world design. No object is placed without a purpose. They're often not clues to puzzles, but parts of a larger story, a world that feels real, inhabited, complex. Environmental storytelling at its finest.

Day 18: Worst Mini-Game Eh.... anything where you have to grind for hours to get an interesting reward. NieR Replicant's fishing and gardening mini-games are examples of this, but far from the only ones (or even the worst).

That's a litteral droid. Is it even possible? o_O I only just started Blue Prince but there are already so many things to keep track of...

Hm, I'm thinking of a chaotic-lawful axis and a physical-digital axis. Maybe chaotic: "take notes on random post-its and old envelopes lying around", neutral: "A4 blank sheet" and lawful: "A dedicated notebook for the game". So I'd be lawful-physical. But we have to find the digital chaotic scale.

Day 17: Favorite Cinematic Hard to say... I love the Bioware ones when you can see your own character act. God of War (2018) has great ones with a lot of emphasis on emotions and moments of silence. One that always give me goosebumps is the intro from Riven. :D www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lza_...

The Crowbcat of 2006 would do a 9h video on all the things that Oblivion streamlined / cut / retconned for mass appeal... but it's old now, so it's good. It just shows how there's no consistency or logic, just idiots blinded by a vague notion of "past was better" who parrot whatever youtubers say.

Day 16: Favorite Plot Twist Two come to mind right now. 1. The whole ending A of NieR Replicant Ver 1.22 Easily one of my favorite endings to a video game. youtu.be/cbPKZSfheFY 2. Literally every Ace Attorney game, but mostly the last case in Investigations 2, and the last trial in Apollo Justice!

I think the open-world and exploration aren't as good as Skyrim. The 2006 one had weird dialogues and bugs that could make it hilarious sometimes. I find the main quest uneven (quite predictable but a good central character). Some of the quest guilds are truly excellent.

Day 15: Overrated Game I wouldn't say it's "overrated", but I've been really disappointed with KOTOR. I thought I could play a cool ambivalent character with an interesting relationship to the Force. Instead it's just a choice between being a goody-two-shoes Jedi or an evil puppy-drowning Sith. 😑

Day 14: Favorite Class / Fighting Style A bit of everything! I tend to favor stealth in immersive sims and I love to wield magic. But a cool warrior is so satisfying to play too! It depends on what character I imagine. I choose their personality first then pick the class that makes the most sense.

Day 13: Best Voice Acting There are few who can hold a candle to Charlotte McBurney's performance in A Plague Tale: Requiem. Absolutely stellar. I can also mention Melissa Hutchison as Clementine ("I'm still. Not. Bitten!") #APlagueTale #TheWalkindDeadTelltale

this is the NEW YORK TIMES griping over Sinners having an "enormous" budget. it cost one third of whatever Netflix action pap that literally spends one week in one theater. it just had an amazing opening weekend with guaranteed WOM. WHAT ARE WE DOING www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/b...
