He talks like a Russian propagandist, and is like Musk trying to prop up the far right. This is how it's going to be for a while now. To avoid problems with blood pressure, just pretend they are Russian, that is pay attention to what they do, not what they say.

The US dismantling the international order by potentially engaging in imperial takeovers of smaller less powerful countries does matter though, especially if you live in one of those countries.

Nah. European countries are very diverse, and so are its domestic politics. Sure, one can always point out Hungary, but otherwise I'd say that most countries in Europe has a more sane political climate than the US. In the Scandinavian countries one might even call politics boringly well-behaved.

The reason "everyone is freeloading on the US" disinfo is so successful is the same why US can't have universal healthcare: US citizens hate it when their tax dollars goes to someone else that didn't contribute as much. UHC requires higher taxes, and acceptance that one may not personally gain.

It's not about military spending at all, which is just in the range of 1-3,5% of GDP. Healthcare is at 11%, and for the US 16%. The difference is that universal healthcare is paid with higher taxes. US enjoy low taxes but pay their healthcare via insurance companies, leading to increased total cost.

Because the US has the strongest military in the world and doesn't have to fear being invaded by Russia. It should also be said that Russian election interference in countries like Romania and Georgia is on a whole different level than what the US has been experienced.

Dems are not kept to an unreasonable standard. If the US had been a normal democracy with pro-democracy parties all-around, Biden's pardon would be a huge scandal. Sure it may feel unfair when on the brink to autocracy, but Dems aren't helping the pro-democracy cause by engaging in corruption.

Americans need to drop the mindset "if my team does it, it's okay". Presidential pardon is a power that doesn't belong in a democracy at all and should be abolished. Sure Trump is 1000 times worse, but it does not make corrupt behavior by a democratic president ok.

I do agree that noone should be above the law though. The presidential power to pardon is something that belongs in a dictatorship, not in a democracy. Just because other presidents abuse this power much more, doesn't make this pardon right.

Russia was always going to use nuclear blackmail, and even more so if proven a successful tactic. There's just no way around it. "Let us enslave you or we will nuke you" will not stop if they manage to swallow Ukraine, they just do it again on their next target.
