That statue of Henrietta Lacks is so full of confidence. Really striking

The President of the United States writing like a teenager who's just been dumped. Remember, this is the man who says he is doing deals with all the countries he's slapped tariffs on. In his dreams.

That was the future back then

Agree. Dangerously stupid, propped up by enablers who are barely any better.

Useful article. I grew up in Bristol, UK. A city that ripped out it's trams pre-WWII (IIRC). It's been struggling with urban traffic problems ever since.

"Agatha Christie on speed" 🤣 You should team up with Lucy Worsley and get her take on it.

The crash is so absurd, but after everything that comes before, it seems entirely plausible. It should be shown every February to beat the winter blues.

I love how Carney said earlier that Trump was a 'transformational president'. Yup, he transformed USA into a failed state in 100 days.

Perhaps we'll hear them on a forthcoming mixtape?

Got a few here in my little spot in mid-Beds. My favourite birds. Fast and free.

Well, get on with it then.

Trump's not evil. He's too much of a low-IQ narcissist to understand evil. The real evil is behind him; Vance, Millar, Musk et al. Those little bastards use Trump as a smokescreen for their deconstruction of democracy and the furtherance of their own despicable agenda.

Stop using Google for search. Try Ecosia instead.

Why do so many think that rich people are somehow smart or better than others? I don't care how much money you have, if you support Trump you are psychopathically stupid. In other words, you might aggressively push others down to get what you want, but you're still as dumb as rocks.

Why doesn't any one in the WH have the balls to tell the truth to his face? They are all spineless cowards, saving their own skin and giving the finger to everyone else.

I think it's too late. Unfortunately, those in power are never the ones to be affected. Now, if MAL were to be suddenly flooded whilst Trump was there, things may* change. *Things won't change. It'd be Biden's fault.

It must have been an amazing time. After the horrors of WWII and the grim realities of much of daily life, the palpable sense of The Future, must have been intoxicating. The promise of a better life to come in all things, Arts, Science, Health, Housing etc.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world is pulled into this little man's tantrums and wonders why he hasn't been dragged from office yet.

I wonder how long it's going to be before Americans with unvaccinated kids will be banned from entering other countries? Nobody wants these mobile petri dishes of disease in their country.

Lots of words and no proof, from the man with the weird, painted-on beard.

It's always empty words with Trump. A quick post on the socials and then off to cheat at the next golf game. Get him out.

The corruption is out in the open now. USA fast on its way to becoming a banana republic.

He doesn't care about his grandchildren. He doesn't care about anyone other than himself. Treat everything he says like a 5-yr old who's had too much sugar.

Because no one is doing anything of significance to stop them.

It's not just in AI that the US will lose out. Uni's around the world will stop co-operating with them at all levels. It's too dangerous for students and staff to travel now, with the restriction on free speech & diversity. The loss of knowledge sharing to the US will have huge implications for it.

I love the idea that one could test a spaceship, by just 'opening up her engines' and seeing what happens. In space. With a full crew and scientific research onboard. 😄

Good point. Wouldn't put it past them to discredit Signal for being insecure and announce they are moving to some app provided by X. And it's just an amazing coincidence that Musk happens to own the company.

Is there a chance that the headphones you are using (Apple?) require a firmware update to be compatible with your new phone? That might account for the loudness. support.apple.com/en-us/106340
comment in response to post
Are these wired/wireless headphones? Wired: You could try an external h/p amp* with vol control & use that to keep things low. Wireless: Do they have a setup app that is bypassing the phone? Music or podcasts? Have you tried turning Sound Check off in Music settings? *Yes, that's an extra spend

Just how stupid are these people, or more likely, just how stupid do they think everyone else is?

Lovely, & deceptively simple illustration. Your accompanying text not only serves to give it a sense of place, but also grounds it in history. That view could be now or hundreds of years ago.
