This isn’t just the “people like them” issue that everyone is trying to make it out as.
Abled Dems and Libs are so busy lowering themselves to the level of trying to “own MAGA” that you’re leaving the disabled and poor that *did not* vote for this out in the cold, or pretending we don’t exist.

REALLY need abled anti-Trumpers to start caring about the disabled & poor that will LITERALLY die without Medicaid.
Instead of pointing out stats about the right statistically using these programs more, acting like this is team sports & theoreticals, why is no one ACTING to protect disabled lives?
comment in response to

And those that DIDN’T vote for this, but need Medicaid to live, should just die as an example?
What about disabled children of those that voted for Trump? Or disabled people in abusive relationships forced to?
Treating this like team sports when actual disabled genocide is at stake is DISGUSTING

ACA?! Them trying to cut Medicaid alone would kill countless disabled people.
But most of y’all aren’t ready to have that discussion. Treatable condition where you can still traditionally work, fine.
But an awful lot of you are totally okay with those too disabled to work being sentenced to death.

…is that it took me *years* of dissociation and ideation before survival instinct kicked in.
I was finally working on goals. Now this admin is going to wipe me off the planet.
I won’t survive without Medicaid. I can’t do traumatizing work when my existence is so threatened. Idk what to do 😭

Why is this a good idea…?
Those that will suffer first are the most vulnerable, that will have vital social safety nets cut…as the government spends the money on Teslas instead.
Disabled people like me shouldn’t die so that others can FINALLY learn what disabled people have been saying for years.

This, plus the irony that it seems MCAS is on the rise bc of an association with Long COVID.
So their lack of temporary masking may = a need for permanent masking.
I needed N95s in transit & at work bc of scent sensitivity from late 2016 due to MCAS (& within a year I was pushed out of my job).

Doctors…
What are you proactively doing to make your marginalized patients feel welcomed and safe…?

Doctors:
If disabled patients, female patients, and/or other marginalized people feel the need to covertly record appointments with you…
It’s not the patient that’s the problem.
It means that the system, you personally, or your staff, has made us feel unsafe.
So, a question…

I hadn’t heard that Gaiman was claiming autism as the reason for being an abusive, predatory fraud.
Not surprised, tho.
I’m so tired of people ignoring autistic folks when we speak on important issues, but armchair dx-ing every abusive person with autism…BECAUSE people like Gaiman pull this shit.

Omg no fr I’m so exhausted I need to sleep
But it also feels so nice to be in clean bedding and a change of pajamas that I’m almost in tears 😭

I saw your other post about awful times when the autism card gets pulled, but I had no idea this was what it was in reference to.
Idk if I’m more afraid to keep scrolling socials, or more afraid not to know what’s happening.

At a point where I’m finally ready to fight…it was a big deal to have survival instinct kick in a few months ago, but actually allowing myself to consider the things I could get done with proper supports?
That’s the kind of thing that inspires me more than anything else. And EVERY small win matters

Had a whole convo with my sister about this and it made me think of you…how the good, knowledgeable people in healthcare end up saddled with too much, feeling a moral duty to make up for the ones that are awful
I dealt with the same stress when I was teaching…I really wish things weren’t like this

Ooooh, your phrasing made it seem like you knew a municipality that had found a way for it to work without being an extra service disabled people had to pay for, so I was curious 😅
Yeah, Amazon Fresh was decent when it was a $35 min instead of $100…still requires a membership, though. They all do 😕

What services? I’ve never heard of them in my region, or anywhere else…we’re expected to afford Instacart or another delivery service (and often blamed for needing them), or to have someone that will shop for us (many of us don’t).
Do you know if any specific instances of programs like this?/gen

This, exactly. I could palpably FEEL the disdain and condescension.
Then when you dare to question an obvious error, or request a standard part of care they forgot, those same HCWs feel insulted.
Because how dare that person they’re looking down on find a mistake, or have a request…?

So many ableds have whataboutisms and unsolicited advice for disabled people.
Meanwhile, they don’t realize that we’re often not treated with the most basic levels of decency.
And worse, especially if we’re alone, speaking up to advocate for ourselves often leads to WORSE treatment.

Disabled people have to watch their records and be on things like a hawk bc of situations like THIS.
Those MAs didn’t have a right to mock me, nor to be irritated.
If your only job is to take my vitals and you’re not doing it, AND laughing instead?
You’re not working. You’re just being a bully.

Referring to 🇮🇸 genocide as if disabled genocide isn’t happening here via lack of masking solidarity, legislated poverty, & more is WILD.
Dems talk about disabled & trans people like *talking points* instead of REAL PEOPLE, as you’ve proven here. Ignored 🇵🇸 genocide.
Virtue signaling individualists.

At first I didn’t have the chat bubble, but I realized I hadn’t updated the app in quite a while, hence the confusion 😅
My chat should be open now!
I too wish I could escape the hellsite sooner…finding my people bit by bit, though!

Tysm for your help! So relieved Bluesky seems to be more accessible & safe across the board.
At different times I need CC, audiobooks, and (the unfortunately very limited) audio descriptions of shows, and tried to learn the screenreader at my weakest…increased accessibility helps us all connected 😊

I totally get it, I also ran out of space and wanted to convey true lack of understanding in good faith, rather than sealioning 😊

Brain fog is never a reminder issue, but anxiety knowing that it often won’t let me describe images.
Is the alt4me a hash or just something to post in one of those spaces?
And what does nofeed mean?
(All genuine q’s I want to get right, I just ask directly when I don’t understand something. Ty!)

Tysm! I responded to your other message and followed you, but unsure how DMs work on here…? Do they even exist? Still fairly new, and have been in flare.
Found you on Twitter (I’m the same @) if that’s where you meant…will try again after my daily “will caffeine give me spoons today” attempt 😅
