Actually it was existing TERFs in the UK who were supported by the Heritage Foundation years ago where it quickly became "the acceptable middle-class bigotry", and ironically spread back to the US more recently.

It feels like it was written out of frustration at the lack of action.
At the same time, a large piece of the rhetoric around trans women is "innate male violence" or similar nonsense, which as a trans women myself makes it feel impossible to demonstrate any visible anger at the situation.

I think I mentioned before that was *REALLY* socially awkward before my 30s and had basically no idea how to meaningfully communicate with other people properly, so my right-wing friend helped me write messages to a girl that asked me out.
Lots of bad advice, went very badly, can't recommend.
