Army vet. The VA has been under-funded for decades! Seattle-lover. Ex-Catholic as they wouldn’t support the Magna Carta. Not over it. 😠

Deleted Twitter the day Elon bought it. Intellectuals should be mobile. Just as cultural capitals had moved from Athens to Rome, Baghdad to Venice, Paris then New York… Keep moving!

I’ve been to countries that don’t have democracy. Some had totalitarians, and others were run by corporations, gangs and unchecked government. I feel Maga no longer cherish democracy.. The things they get excited about appear to be seriously short term feel-goods.

When he passes, there will likely be 2 million Catholics show up in Rome. I like a good turnout at a funeral but…

All monotheisms have had periods of violence under blasphemy laws in order to eliminate reasoned arguments. Those periods are never met with organized dissent from clergy, which is circumstantial evidence of the extreme weakness of the religion to begin with.

Perhaps it would help if they began bringing back blasphemy laws. I hear church attendance went through the roof in the fourth century after they closed all the theaters in the Roman Empire, destroyed pagan temples, enclosed institutions of learning as well as ending the Olympics.

These people aren’t silent. The corporate media is deciding how much dissent is acceptable.

Billionaires will be in the Maldives or Dubai anyway. Courage doesn’t exist when your entire career is avoiding a real fight.

Luv it! Aquinas believed the soul emanated from mans seed and that woman was just a vessel. And its his theology people squeezed ‘life begins at conception’.

Loved an argument I had with a fool saying Hillary Clinton wanted to ‘give’ immigrants drivers licenses. I just said, “So immigrants ‘give’ all their personal info and ‘give’ us $35 for a piece of plastic?? What a deal?”

Recent popes have apologized for inquisitions, blasphemy laws, the burning of heretics, crusades, genocide, complicity in the holocaust, the global cover-up of thousands of pedophile priests… JD Vance is the kind of Catholic, who would never apologize nor acknowledge those things if pope.

It’s time to remember phrases like “home improvement cost”, “business travel expense”, and “research vessel”.

GOP laws eventually will shrink the electorate back to wealthy land owners. You know, feudalism.

Every one of the 1850’s anti-abolitionist pamphlets uses the bible to defend human slavery.

They have no power. We voted them out remember?

Religion has always needed secular society to recruit for them. The Christian message is so weak that after centuries of blasphemy laws , burning heretics, then the forced conversion of 2 continents, they’re still a minority.

We need more feudal serfdom, debt bondage, wage slavery, forced overtime, domestic servitude…. You know, the freedom of having no union!

Of course. It was in the context of shaping history that this needs to be discussed. Thousands of Catholics died at Auschwitz but the Catholic church tried to erect a large cross in the middle of the place like a stamp. So much competition over the copyrights of history.

In Mein Kampf Hitler said he was right to fight the Jews because of the “Almighty creator”. He claimed loudly and publicly that he was a Catholic. Often he claimed Jesus was the first Jew-fighter. - no one was calling him an atheist till after the war.
