At least 100 Russian special forces were killed in a 1.4m diameter gas pipeline on the outskirts of Sudzha, Kursk Oblast they attempted to flank Ukraine defenders. This is the biggest special forces catastrophe since August 6, 2011 when the US lost 15 Navy seals in a helicopter crash.

As expected, Rubio got rolled, but it was cooked into the talks given that Trump wants a deal. The Russians used oil fields as a lure, but when Exxon left Russia in 2022, it was generating ~2% of its global production there. In reality, Russia has very little to offer besides not causing trouble.
