It’s not what I meant. I was thinking of it being an ingratiating exercise rather than an endorsement, I.e. someone looking for their name in a google search and finding only glowing praise. But as I write this, it makes Streeting sound even more pathetic if it were his strategy. You’re right…

1/2 Do you think it’s possible (not saying I like it) that they’ve been told to make every utterance that might be read by Trump’s people as anodyne or, indeed, sycophantic as possible in order not to undermine Starmer’s hyper delicate dance around the fascist Oompa Loompa?

It’s real! I have just received citizenship. I have three MAs and a DPhil written here and have lived here for 30 years. It took me three months of studying. But now I know that Jackie Stewart won three F1 titles and that British people watch Coronation Street (but not Friends or BigBangTheory)

I turn to you two first for calm and informative analysis. I also recommend you to politically engaged friends. We all have one criticism in common: Naomi, please stop the gratuitous swearing. It detracts and lowers the quality of your work and wants to make me switch off. Don’t make me switch off!

2/2 from having to trawl back over three years of leaving and returning dates each time I went to visit my parents for a weekend, trying to prove I have been here (tax returns and bank statements/ bills don’t count), chasing non existent tax numbers, remembering the date I arrived here in 1989…

1/2 Just been approved after 35 years here. Never thought I’d need it. Thoughts of a Farage government and remigration and possibly banning me from accessing NHS / pension made me reconsider. My family are here. I have had settled status since Brexit. The process felt like harassment.

2/2 my mother never got over the trauma to the extent that we had to keep secret from her the fact that her grandson had a small part in Masters of the Air.

1/2 He was really p…d off when Laschek was elected and went off to BlackRock to make some more money and lick his wounds. Even my parents who are life long CDU voters thought he was unsuitable for being too right wing. I spoke with my dad last night .They were both born during WW2 and

I thought you did great on politics live the other day. Also very encouraged by Ed Davey’s CU speech. That and care is where I’d like you to challenge Labour. Other than that go for the Tories and Reform. Good job so far x

I thought the man in the red jumper was exc. I had the sense of FB panicking that he might finish with the logical conclusion of Farage and rise of Nazism. Farage was squirming. I also would have liked that woman to be allowed to say she got her views from Farage and Co. He would have hated that.

I listened to the Newsagents interview with him last Friday. I was left even more convinced afterwards that he should not be allowed near government again than I was beforehand.

I recommend Lewis Goodall on LBC instead. Tough questions but not craven and always smart .Btw it would be great if any account that uses misogyny when debating women journalists/ politicians etc gets rewarded with a block. I just blocked one of your respondents.
