ProPublica looked into science grants that Ted Cruz's team flagged as "radical" and "neo-Marxist" and, uh. This would be good comedy if it didn't matter so much www.propublica.org/article/ted-...

For no real reason, here’s Charles Lindbergh in 1941 saying US shouldn’t assist the UK’s war with Germany because country should 1) prioritize America First interests, 2) avoid European entanglements, 3) push for peace, and 4) recognize it’s an unfair deal for us. 🤷‍♂️

fascinating to watch a global superpower tear itself apart for no good reason

There's no such thing as "the quiet part" anymore. It's all out loud.

I think that there are two types of people in this world: Nazis and people who hate nazis. If you find yourself trying to explain away this, you are definitely the former, not the latter.

I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute. The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud. This was the right and only appropriate response.

American Pundits: It was an exuberant and controversial gesture of uncertain significance… Actual Fascists: It’s a Nazi salute.

I am very sad to say that I would have said this is a straight line from exactly what the signals were online, and nobody was listening to the whole cohort of folks shouting about this for about 10 years straight while having their lives ruined for mentioning it

I worked on this story for a decade and he just said it out loud on Fox News

Prius at 0:16 doing the ope let me sneak by you real quick

Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt

way funnier than the conservatives who hated Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime show are the conservatives who thought he was doing the ultimate patriotic ode to America

In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse. The price tag for this cruelty? $17.5 million

i do not think conservatives are going to like the version of liberalism that comes out of the other side of this

This is the single detail I have been most confused about all week. Are they all high-level magic users or something

I'm not saying this is a coup. But if you *were* going to do a coup, how would things look different from recent events -- seizing the federal payments system, federal purging law enforcement, threatening to sic armed US Marshals on civil servants guarding classified data

So the most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world clumsily fired a bunch of senior air traffic staff, caused the worst domestic air disaster since 9/11, and then tried to blame black people

If the FAA director got fired over a business beef AND there was an air traffic controller hiring freeze despite huge shortages AND a chaotic blitz to hollow out federal bureaucracy, and then within a week the first American airliner crashes in 16 years, you would be insane not to talk about it all.

You're going to learn that roughly 50% of the things that you wholeheartedly believe are wrong. Adapt to that and realize it's ok to keep improving.

very excited to see what happens when you make a deeply compromised addict the leader of the department of defense and subordinate to a madman

Never going to forget or forgive a single fucking person who supported him.
