Personally, I never by products from companies I cannot trust to support their products. Especially, products that require replacement parts, specialized tools, and software upgrades.

Now you are asking a lot. I don't hold out hope for compassion either. This is why I push, enlightened self-interest. It only requires making a connection between one's own greed and another's welfare. This is his true shortcoming, and this is why they will lose. But this is going to leave a mark.

Buddhists disagree. Someone without a shred of empathy can still act with compassion. It is not always possible to feel empathetic; however, one can always act out of compassion. While enlightened self-interest requires neither empathy or compassion.

Better than empathy, compassion. Empathy is a visceral response. Compassion is learned. Compassion is how we act. Begin with the concept of sonder. The profound feeling that everyone, has a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness.

Politicians worse impulses were once reigned in by the fear an opposing party would use their own draconian powers against them when they regain power. Republicans ignoring this convention indicates they do not intend to hold free and fair elections ever again.

The worst thing is they proved they cannot stand together. Whether the majority of Dems thought it was better to vote yes or no, they should have all shown a united front.
