I made an Ex Altiora, which I also got signed by a bunch of Magnus & Rusty Quill folk. I used a book as base, gave it a fake leather wrapping (foam) and made a secret compartment for the lightning effect! The button to trigger it is completely invisible. @madnesscreations.com did the electronics^^

Best thing: The dress has pockets!

ikr! The second pic is my favorite too^^ I loving call it "horror Totoro" XD The photographer really got the best sides of Bonzo! Thx! Body language is so difficult cause I am very limited, especially cause the facial expression is completely rigid, so I have to use other things to make it work^^

I'll forward him your compliment! 😊 Matt is a painting wizard!

@madnesscreations.com Next project (heh), mount the projector to the ceiling? XD
comment in response to post
Ohhh, we're also using a projector for patterns, but very simple with a control square to make sure it's the right size ^^' Also we project the pattern to a wall, what means that we have to pin the paper to the wall. Your approach is super interesting tho, maybe we'll rethink ours^^

I saw the artwork, looked at Boggy, and immediately knew it had to happen! ^^

All that was left then was glueing on the... blisters? pimples? lumps? The orange things, which are toy foam balls in two sizes which I cut in half and painted orange. The bigger ones on the head I made with 5 mm EVA foam. And also added the decorative stitches! Boy, what a long post...

Then magic happened and suddenly it looked alive! Matt from www.instagram.com/brazen.and.bold/ painted Bonzo, shading, blood smears and dirt! Also, you can see me wearing the trousers already, these are just from a comfy trousers pattern by @tsuya.at

The eyes in the ripped-open belly are made the same way the one behind cutesy Bonzo's nose was: painted iris behind a cabochon, foam eye lids, cotton and latex, paint it. The head basically got the same treatment like the body. The weird eye lid is also just foam, later added latex and cotton to it.

The mouth is 1cm high density foam, cut and dremeled into shape. The lips are foam clay! The eyes are acrylic domes with a bit of clear resin for the lens, I then simply glued the picture of an eye behind it. The veins are strings of wool glued to the dome. Last step is painting the inside white!

I made a first layer of gloves so I can pull everything off the 3D print if I need to repair a string or elastic. I glued batting to these under-gloves and added foam clay for more pointy fingers. The actual skin then goes over this construction.

The 3D models for the mechanical hands are by www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Faeb... @madnesscreations.com adjusted the hand to Bonzo's needs and printed it for me. I decided to sew gloves into it cause the hand will be super closed off and I needed to make sure I'd find the strings (spider cw on the 2. pic)

For the arms I sewed tubes on my sewing machine and pinched and pulled them into shape. I did the skin for the shoes also with the machine as they have an easy shape. For the collar I experimented with paper to get the shape right.

To create Bonzo's skin folds I used quilt batting! When I was finished I covered everything in newspaper to get a better feel for the size of the fabric to skin Bonzo. Skinning was quite the process, a lot of pulling and gluing. I then sewed the pieces together by hand.

I 3D-sculpted Bonzo's body in Nomad Sculpt. @madnesscreations.com made a papercraft pattern using CozyBlanket by @sparseal.bsky.social, which we printed and I then assembled, cut into a suitable pattern again, traced it onto 1 cm upholstery foam, cut it out, glued it together! So far so good!

Will you wear wigs?

It's been a while, but my most recent work would be this wyvern. Monster Clay sculpt molded with Dragon Skin (fitting, heh) and casted with Smooth-Cast 65D.

I brought this costume to the 10 anniversary ESO Tavern last year. Of course I didn't bring my cat with me, but I found a perfect sized plush to wear it^^ People seemed to really like him and I got to show him to the art director of ESO! 🥰

@madnesscreations.bsky.social designed the silver ware tray in Blender and printed them for me. I made the plates with EVA foam, primed and painted everything. Everything's attached to a harness which can be easily opened and closed via a strip of Velcro.

The small details like the handle, the decorative line and the spiked are also made with EVA foam. I stippled flex bond onto it to give it a bit of texture and painted it with acrylic paint. The chin straps are attached to the helmet with a rubber band.

@tsuya.bsky.social luckily had a small cauldron (still too big for Boggy's head, but I scaled the pattern down) from which I took the pattern. I then build the cauldron helmet with EVA foam.

I added a bit of shading and blood to the fabric and used a thick grey yarn as decorative top stitching and voila! ^^

The original nose became detachable with magnets! There are magnets glued inside the head and the nose got a second back cover with magnets sandwiched in between.
comment in response to post
The eye is just a iris and pupil painted on paper with a clear cabochon glued on top. The eyelids are just foam. I pre-painted it, then added texture with cotton and latex and painted that again. I love it so much! I then just glued it to the inside of the head.

I have Bonzo this skull nose. Monster Bonzo had his skull ripped open from his nose over his forehead, so I thought I'd add a beginning tear and conseal it with the nose. And I'd add a little eye looked out from within
comment in response to post
And then at the premiere we learned that Bonzo's nose is detatchable for the monster Bonzo version... So I came home from the premiere and had 4 days to add this feature to my Bonzo head to show it off at MCM. So I carefully removed the nose that I had glued to the head and when from there

I also made gloves from the jumper's sleeves and we bought a second jumper to actually wear as intended. I added a second glove as understructure to create the illusion of only 4 fingers of similar thickness.

For the collar I sewed a foam strip and triangles into white cotton, bought a pink tie and used everything together and then to the head. I also just bought a purple hat and attached it with snap buckles for easier transportation.

Cutesy Bonzo's structure looks knitted, I actually used a jumper for that. I draped it to the foam ball, sewed it, cut out the hole for the mouth and glued the mouth into that hole. At first I also just glued on the nose, I'll come to that later

Mr. Bonzo is based on Mr. Blobby and that one has jiggly eyes. So I wanted to replicate that effect. For this I pushed the spring from a pen through the foam and added a metal nut to give the foam iris a bit more weight. I glued that to the head and sewed the acrylic dome on via holes I had drilled.

I shared my idea with my husband, who promptly answered "No!" I then texted my friend Tsuya who also enthusiastically replied "NO". So I started researching and planning!^^ I had just made an upholstery foam costume, so the general structure with be exactly that with a EVA foam mouth and nose.

Also learned about skirt makers while sewing this costume: Me: The skirt is shorter in the back with this pattern, I'd need to measure it from the floor up and not from the hip down! Tsuya: Hold my beer - *fishes out this funky little chalk dust blowing machine out of the depths of her workshop*

The teeth are simply cut out of 5 mm EVA foam and screwed in via Chicago screws (I had to make them removable to fit it in a suitcase. And strap the foam down with 4 belts). I added the sunglasses after Dragon Con, they're also just 5 mm EVA foam with plastic foil and are held in place by magnets.
