Or ya'll could listen to every Black/Brown woman that this shit has already happened to instead of a racist white woman's scary reimagining of "WHAT IF IT HAPPENED TO WHITE GIRLS THO?"

Sir there’s a second Yemen Signal chat

Confirmed cases of measles in the US. 2020: 13 2021: 49 2022: 121 2023: 59 2024: 285 Total cases: 527 (5-years) 2025: (first 90 days) 628 confirmed cases of measles, and 3 deaths.

Sure you’ve lost your life savings but hey at least you can say all the slurs you want in the break room of the job you no longer have

Literally me. Was good my whole life, then it all went downhill after 33. I’ve been in hell ever since. 😩

People who told everyone that masking was the worst possible thing to be asked to do are now telling USians that "sacrifice" and it's so ridiculous.

I get why techbros and their ilk like gen-AI: artists and writers to them are just an obstacle to be bypassed. But I'll never get an author/artist/musician who uses it. "I want to be a writer." No you don't. You fetishize ideas but hate the work. You don't respect the craft or its practitioners.

NEW: There's a measure on Louisiana's ballot THIS SATURDAY that you should know about: It sets the stage for state to prosecute more children as adults. Very few voters are turning out so far, but this is hugely important: Part of Gov. Landry's agenda of incarcerating more kids.

We are very close to a near cure for two of the highest-mortality cancers we know: glioblastoma and pancreatic cancer. These are both mRNA based treatments which are losing their funding during stage I and II trials. Thousands will die needlessly because of this motherfucker and his lies.

I'm a broken record on this so I'll just say again that you should take every opportunity to [if you can] gather with other people who are trying to do constructive things in the world. Attend the zine fairs, the craft circles, the workshop sessions, food distros, people's assemblies, all of it.

We're in really different places here and internationally because some of us believe that the US has been authoritarian in various iterations over the years especially at the state level and others do not.

CORRECT. PLUS, the majority is WRONG about a lot of things. What are your actual VALUES? I stand 10 toes down on values.

re the previous repost: if they can disappear permanent residents they can disappear citizens

I understand and appreciate the sentiment I do but thats not what it means either. The idea of being aware of systemic racism being made a byword by the right only to be sanitized as general good heartedness demonstrates how concepts are drained of vigor. variety.com/2025/film/ne...

The issue is — like so many things — “the politics of joy” has been disconnected from its roots and lost its meaning. The idea was originally introduced by Zora Neale Hurston.

Send this video to your representatives via email and tell them to repeat these words over and over again everywhere.

It feels really festive that a Black church took away the Proud Boys control over their own name for Black History Month.

Ppl say this, but then don’t support self-published work. It’s not the quality that drives sales, it’s the attached social status of a formal publisher. Every year, terrible books are published by the big 5 too; a book deal itself reveals more about status, desirability &/or timing than quality.

Indivisible is urging people to visit their senators' local offices between now and Thursday to demand that they use every tool—including denying a quorum and blocking unanimous consent—to fight the confirmation of Project 2025 architect Russell Vought for head of OMB docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Why are institutional Dems' election criticisms always directed at the smallest, least powerful part of the voter coalition but never at the Party leaders ?

I don't think they are cowards. I think they are complicit.

Going full court press on Musk would be a pretty obvious play for an opposition party right now, if we had one.

no call to action, no specific policies mentioned, no plans, can't leave a voicemail because his inbox is full. we elected him to the safest blue seat in the senate and the most he can manage is vague platitudes. what a complete waste.

So if I’m understanding today correctly, the world’s richest person Elon Musk, whom no one elected, is taking over federal payment systems and employee data while the federal employees who investigate and prosecute public corruption are being fired en masse.

Always interesting how much activists and organizers are despised & repressed and then folks yell that no one is organizing or taking action when they want people to protest or revolt...

Very bad time to be sentient with severe anxiety.

The jokes literally ai-generate themselves

They want people to die. Whatever we feel about that, we have to accept they WANT people to die

A three-year old, his mother, and his grandmother were speaking Spanish while shopping in Milwaukee. They’re U.S. citizens from Puerto Rico but were taken by ICE. Once in detention, the mother was able to produce ID and birth certificates proving citizenship: www.telemundopr.com/programas/di...

my art is imperfect, let's keep it that way. fuck AI

These people need to act like a fucking opposition party and oppose. They are taking the wrong things away from the 2024 loss and 2026 will be more of the same if they don't get it together.

Pause, let nature ground you. 🍃

The persistent “x is a distraction from y” framing is a problem as it’s often: 1) egocentric; a way to suggest they have “unique” insight that nobody else could possibly have. 2) anti-expertise; sometimes ppl purposely choose an issue to focus on, to be effective. Specificity is OK & useful.

Stress-frying plantain.

This cannot be stressed enough. People do not in fact know what to do about most of what's happening. There are lots of things happening at once and a lot of it is complex. So if you actually have CONCRETE and SPECIFIC actions to suggest, do that. Some people will appreciate it & jump on board.

💀😭

Something that is really going to be more necessary than ever is embracing uncertainty and it's actually the most difficult thing for human beings to do. It really is. But everyone needs to practice. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN. That means there's a possibility your actions can make a difference

The FTC releases preliminary findings from its surveillance pricing study, which was inspired by an article at @theprospect.bsky.social, and finds numerous factors for individual prices to be set differently for different people www.ftc.gov/news-events/...

Calloused blabbermouths who thought this was ever about national security = hiding behind that to mask their loud ongoing classism and elitism towards the artists, creators, educators and small biz who used TikTok before the ban. This reincarnated FrankenTok & how it’s coming about is manipulation.

Multiple buffoons have said ppl shouldn’t have relied on social media for work because it can go away at any time & they don’t own the company. & traditional jobs don’t go? So everyone who works at a corp that chapter 11, college dept that got axed, a tech co. or news/media publication “owns” it?

If Meta really got its grubby little hands on it, even if TT “comes back” it’s gone forever. smfh

the ban is about controlling how we make money, what info we access, and scaring us into compliance. people are making livable wages, BUYING HOUSES, paying off debt, etc through the creator program. even with the way certain creators get ripped off!
