Donald Trump has disgraced the United States of America in countless ways since he first entered political life ten years ago. But he had never disgraced the nation as badly as he did today. He has brought shame on this country to an extent I had never thought possible. And he has only just begun.

FWIW my take on the Zelenskyy ambush. Zelenskyy has greater standing in the world right now than Trump, and Trump needs to reverse that, at least in the US. It may have worked -- who knows? A lot depends on the next two hours of coverage.

EXCLUSIVE: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last week ordered U.S. Cyber Command to stand down from all planning against Russia, including offensive digital actions. On @therecordmedia.bsky.social therecord.media/hegseth-orde...

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Vance is such a sniveling twit. He wants Zelensky to thank Trump? For what? Trying to extort him? Calling him a dictator? Praising the man slaughtering his people? Given the heartbreaking history of Ukraine, this spectacle is all the more mortifying. We’re on the side of the monsters, now.

Zelenskyy is a warrior for democracy. Putin is a war criminal. Full stop.

A message from Zelensky through his actions. Honor and dignity. Some things can only be surrendered. They can't be taken away.

I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US. Totally embarrassing.

Brazen.

If "60 hours a week is the sweet spot of productivity," that's only because the tech workers who can put in all those hours at the office have offloaded all their caregiving responsibilities onto others more vulnerable than them. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/27/t...

NEW: In 2021, evangelical pastor Steve Berger set off on an ambitious project: minister to members of Congress so that what “they learn is then translated into policy.” Now, he is Mike Johnson’s D.C. roommate — living in a home owned by a major GOP donor.

We’ll be writing every day in support of personal liberties. Here’s why workers aren’t persons. by Jeff Bezos

I know there’s a phrase that perfectly describes what’s going on here but gosh darn it I’m blanking on it Maybe we can crowdsource this. The best I can come up with is I think it may rhyme with or sound something like “anti-magnetic lyco-bath.” Can anyone help?

The mass firing of both new hires and recently promoted senior staff within #NOAA, including mission-critical and life-saving roles at the National Weather Service (#NWS), is profoundly alarming. 1/11

NEW: Per a source, the firings of probationary employees hit NOAA's office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) today. It includes not just newer young scientists but people at the top of their field who have been there for years but were technically probationary for admin/not-relevant reasons.

Truth sandwich The President does not have power to ignore the courts. John Yoo and Robert Delahunty essay recently invoked Cambodia case claiming Pentagon "ignored" a court order. The legendary Burt Neuborne sets the record straight in this brilliant essay. (Burt argued the case in 1973.)

No more work-from-home, government workers, except for Kash Patel, who will run the FBI from Las Vegas www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

“The Office of Personnel Management does not have any authority whatsoever under any statute in the history of the universe to hire and fire employees at another agency,” said Judge William Alsup in granting a temporary restraining order against firings of probationary workers.

Is it incompetence or cruelty? Either way, DOGE screws Veterans and this should definitely be getting more attention! DOGE is dragging its feet on processing VA claims, leaving veterans without the healthcare and support they earned.

Not pro-life

Organ Transplant System ‘in Chaos’ as Waiting Lists Are Ignored "...officials skip patients at the top of waiting lists & send organs to people who are not as sick and have not been waiting as long. Those recipients are disproportionately white & better educated." www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

As a father of a daughter who needed a full liver transplant, this is infuriating. We were lucky thanks to an anonymous donor who stepped up to donate a piece of his liver.

Musk claims to be removing fraud from government, but the corruption is happening in plain sight. *He called for the FAA chief who regulates his companies to resign *FAA then cancels a $2.4 billion contract with Verizon and gives it to Musk instead donmoynihan.substack.com/p/musks-frau...

They just fired hundreds of FAA employees.

Why is Donald Trump letting sex traffickers into the United States www.nytimes.com/2025/02/27/w...

Finally. A major media outlet has finally reported on Trump’s total travel ban for transgender visa applicants seeking the United States. I had to scream for two days to get someone else to report on it. It is NOT just for athletes. www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...

I was assured that Gavin Newsom was toast (pun intended) politically after the LA fires. 52% of Californians (55% of likely voters) approve of how Governor Newsom is handling his job — (+8 from Oct 2024) Notably, approval of Newsom is HIGHEST IN LOS ANGELES (61%). www.ppic.org/publication/...

Former Wash Post top editor Cameron Barr severs ties to the company He writes that Bezos’ revamp marks an “unacceptable erosion of its commitment to publishing a healthy diversity of opinion and opinion” www.linkedin.com/posts/camero...

The fact that Byron York, out of the loudest shouters about the dangers of a “deep state,” can suggest it’s illegitimate to identify the people who have been given unprecedented power to change the government shows how utterly lost to nonsensical fascist propaganda some “conservatives” are.

NEW: Backstory on VA's decision to cancel roughly 1000 contracts worth $2B. DOGE apparently made no effort to find out what they were for and didn't both to find out they were putting of of business numerous service-disabled vet businesses with their decision. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/more-...

Donald Trump just helped free Andrew Tate from his rape and human trafficking charges. Tate has bragged about grabbing women by their necks, breaking their jaws, and said “I am absolutely a misogynist.”

congratulations once again to every corporate executive in America who competes with Elon and decided to support Trump for “business reasons” on your world-historic mistake there is, it turns out, a lot more to a stable and profitable business environment than low corporate tax rates

Andrew Tate being allowed to come to the U.S. and avoid facing trial for sex trafficking in Romania is beyond stomach-churning. This man is a HUGE influencer and uses his platform/following to further abuse women who have accused him. Now he won’t face justice, reaffirming his lies to his followers

Oh come on….

Here is a 2018 conversation between Jeff Bezos and German publisher Matthias Döpfner at a Business Insider event. Presumably, he is as crimson as a Washington State cherry today:

I know this tweet is absurd but the Intel community is currently having all of its trans and queer staff purged. So while this tweet seems so insane, it is still being utilized to eradicate trans people while keeping liberals from seeing what's happening.

1. Today, the NYT has reported that 100 members of an ERG-adjacent LGBTQ+ chat in the intelligence community have been fired. This is a new McCarthyism, a new lavender scare meant to remove LGBTQ+ in government, and the way this was done should shake us all. Subscribe to support my journalism.

I told you all @jeffbezos was feral. He’s now killed the Graham/Bradlee legacy of justice, the First Amendment and basic humanity in a vomitous spew of nonsense, testosterone fueled (and HGH) double talk that is more than a little pathetic and utterly shameless.
