How sweet it is! At least we still have some semblance of the rule of law at the state level.

Fully agree on all that but it's pretty cold comfort if that's it. Could be entirely academic, I fear, as I don't see how it weakens Trump until we finally get to the Nuremberg phase.

Schumer needs to go and I'm as mad as anyone at the Dem establishment, but I don't see how that would have given COURTS more leverage.

I really hate to agree but the logic seems inexorable. I'm not sure courts matter at the federal level in any way right now. We elected a career criminal and we can't prosecute him. So, thanks a lot Beltway idiots who couldn't bring themselves to ignore an equally idiotic norm.

Great but, with all the JAGs gone, who's going to ensure the military obey's the law?

That is the question that's really making me nervous? Courts seem powerless now. Where's their leverage?

Why should he? Can't he just ignore the way he's ignoring everything? What actual leverage does any court have over a career criminal POTUS who simply ignores courts? Please prove me wrong! I really want to be wrong.

Serious, in no way rhetorical question. What point is there to legal action against the federal government when that government simply ignores the law and faces no repercussions? We've relied on norms for so long that it seems like courts are now academic. Talk me down!

All the fact checks of, “Trump has denied any affiliation with P25.” Yea. Well, of course he did. He’s a pathological liar. But, maybe some further analysis, like the connections between his former staff and P25 or how many times he was mentioned in it were in order. Ya know, actual journalism. 🙄

I have to go now but I read a little further into the artile and it did mention how people lower down the pecking order could be disbarred or otherwise punished. But, absent punishment for leaders, how does *anyone* no matter how brave, actually force a POTUS to comply or leave office?

People need to get off their high-horses and learn history, where heroic and villainous acts can be performed by the same person. If Frederick Douglas could celebrate Washington while acknowledging his bad deeds, why can't the rest of us? thelionofanacostia.wordpress.com/tag/george-w....

Maybe this is self-evident to everyone and maybe it isn't. Therapeutic coping suggestions are great. I would add getting involved in the world in some way and helping others. However, I hope everyone feeling this way for for weeks at t tiem finds their way to psychiatric care. Meds can be great.

To me, whether or not the administration will obey court orders is the nub of the matter. As activists, we have to encourage people to have some hope in order to motivate actions. However, without any known mechanism to force the regime to comply, why should we expect them to, at all? Any answers?

I hope everyone is calling their Democratic Senators. If you want to know everything they *should* be doing, here it is. If you live in NY, maybe shout a little extra loud about this when you call! indivisible.org/resource/how...

Or, Will Ferrell broke off their partnership because he was going around the bend. Driven mad by the toxic brew of ego and too much screen time!
