In my city the cops still couldn't find them if they put a "Thief House" sign on the door.

Harris did not win Utah. Trust me. There's always been an energized left in SL,UT that shows up. I enjoyed my time among them. But they are great like that because of what they are surrounded by, often what they've left behind.

Been to Edinburgh but not Glasgow. Our only experience of G is a movie from the 80s or 90s called "Ratcatcher" which we had to watch with the English subtitles on.

We like Kirkwall for the nightlife

OMG! A musical? You poor thing. Is it too late to send an extraction team? They'll try to keep the "collateral damage" to a minimum and mostly the cast.

We're fucked

Still toying with the idea of emigrating to Kirkwall.

When I was stationed in Louisiana I became convinced that Okra was a practical joke played on Yankees as payback for the War of Northern Aggression. Many years later I finally found Bindi Massla...

Sure today it's truck nuts, tomorrow it's naked lady silhouettes on the back window, next thing you know they're banning Yosemite Sam mud flaps and "This Truck Protected by Smith and Wesson" bumper stickers. Might as well live in France! (Love the shades!)

I grew up in Boston during the troubles. We were the "rear echelon" of the IRA. Funding, arming, sheltering fugitives from justice. We weren't innocents. OTOH I was hoping to get back to Belfast this year but am not confident that I could make it back thru US customs without being renditioned.

Nuremberg Laws were based on Jim Crow. We've been shitty a long time.

We also had a depression in the 1890s and *several* "financial panics". www.federalreservehistory.org/essays/banki...

Sundays at my gym are Proud Boys Sundays. The staff told them they couldn't wear "gang colors" anymore but they have Hegseth tattoos and at least one wears his Trump hat. 🤬

It was really depressing watching Obama tack right as he went from running for the State Senate, then US Senate, then President. I would have much preferred the guy who ran for State Senate.

Why don't those people just stay home and fix their own countries!?!

We're horrid people. Maybe not individually but definitely collectively

Some days I seriously consider self-deporting myself back to Lovetron.

Ah yes, the "important novel" by a poet that is required reading at an age when bookish virgins can be frightened about a very rare outcome into delaying sexual activity. They should assign Patti Smith's "Just Kids" instead.

I seem to recall W losing a congressional and vowing never to be "out rednecked" again. Damn, I miss Ann Richards and Jim Hightower.

Next time let's get an AG with a sense of urgency. In fact, start collecting evidence *now* so the prosecution can start on day 1.

Sugar and spice and everything nice? ...but yeah, 3 white dudes discussing reproductive health in communities of color is a bit cringe, isn't it?

Disclosure: I'm team Burr. It's been 25 or more years since I've read it but can still remember Vidal having Burr call Hamilton a "cocksucking sycophant"

Why would Gore Vidal be in Hell?

I'm depressed at how much sense this makes. Meanwhile, people are giving AIPAC Dems like Cory Booker a juice box and a participation ribbon for saying, "Trump bad" but of course the vast majority of them are absolutely silent about the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

*hugs* We went through this a few years ago. Traumatic. There's a special place in hell for irresponsible pet owners! 🤬
