My friend, the NHS can't even test all the autistic children for autism.

Lisa and I did our first interview about Animal Rescue Team!

Well, yeah, you’re Cary Grant.

This week's Generations Games newsletter: @mattleacock.bsky.social and Lisa Towell discuss their upcoming co-operative game Animal Rescue Team. Plus, updates on the US import tariffs' impact on the tabletop games industry. thegenerationsgames.substack.com/p/animal-res...

No surprise, but we've been talking internally a lot about the tariff situation, so I figured I'd share how the situation is impacting us and how we're navigating it. restorationgames.com/tackling-tar...

So sad & sobering. My heart goes out to them. This is worth a read, especially if you've ever thought that games are too expensive or publishers are getting rich off this stuff. The reality is that margins are *very* tight, and even a temporary pause due to tariffs is devastating

This is the issue that Street Wessing isn't listening to. If no one will hire you, what the hell are you meant to do?

The council is spending all its end-of-year budget on roadworks throughout our neighbourhood and you can tell the townfolk are having a moment about it as "You wouldn't believe Junction 12 this morning" has replaced "terrible weather, isn't it?" in the smalltalk stakes.

Well, as this involves writers of 2 of my favourite, wildly different books, The Framley Examiner and The Apparition Phase, means I must dip into this. Hoping for a mix of hauntology investigated by hapless hack Taunton Mishap, and the answer to the supernatural riddles involved being "owls diddit".

Contemplating a switch for the newsletter to Beehiiv. But is it really the case that initiating paid subscribers costs about £500 a year? Does anyone have good experiences using it? Doesn't seem accessible for anyone who has some paid subs but doesn't already have a huge platform.

Microsoft just put up the price of your subscription without your consent. Mine rose from £79.99 per year to over £100. The extra is because they've strapped their 'AI copilot' in to every program. You can refuse this increase and these features. Instructions below.
