Probably dreaming of concerts, camping, or snowboarding, but too busy and tired to do as much of any of them as I'd like.

Coffee and records are a good way to spend any Saturday morning. This is easily one of my desert island albums. The tone of the guitars and Jason Molina's voice just hit somewhere deep in me on this one.

How would any of this look different if they were actively trying to kill us all?

How are normal, empathic people in the US supposed to do anything other than curl up in a ball on the floor right now? Just a giant fucking knot in my stomach all the god-damned time.

I'm depressed about everything pretty much continually (and I am NOT asking for your advice on dealing with it, just to be absolutely clear) but I'm also just so fucking ... annoyed, at the irritating stupidity of it all. It's like being ruled by a giant, stupid, buzzing mosquito.

The dumbest invention of all time was when some fucking dude decided electrical outlets should be controlled by a wall switch.

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social If this is true, then you are a fucking moron. Why on earth would you throw away one of the easiest wins you have with the American public?

Given some of the ridiculous fucking sentences I've had to translate on Duolingo I'd be willing to bet they've been using some AI bullshit for a while.

For as long as I can remember, this is the lesson the Democratic party refuses to learn. Dems are constantly reacting to public opinion, while Republicans are busy moving it. Maybe @schumer.senate.gov can take notice and actually follow through on reacting to our constitutional crisis.

I will keep beating this drum until the tide turns: Obama's DNC speech got him rock-star attention, but the key reason he became a viable presidential primary candidate was his opposition to the Iraq War back when many elected Dems--especially Hillary Clinton--supported it.

I just doesn't fucking stop with these people

This shit right here; I can't fucking wait.

Just spent longer than I'd like to admit looking around my desk for the phone I was holding in my hand and actively using.

Does he have any idea how difficult it is to move pharmaceutical manufacturing to a new facility? We don't have the manufacturing capacity to move all of our drug making here, and the regulatory burden is a painstaking process that would take a couple years though killing the FDA helps with that.

That was the weirdest end of a game I think I've ever seen.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

You can totally see how this mf bankrupted a casino.

You should be able to buy edibles at airports.

Most clarifying era in politics in America as anything I can recall because it’s so simple: You’re either for this or against. Pick a side.

What could these people possibly hope to gain by siding with Republicans on this? Fucking morons, every single one of them.

It seems unfair that the time when my kids decided to double-down on teenage assholery so perfectly lines up with Trump and the GOP's efforts to tear up the constitution and dismantle our country. I can muddle through one or the other, but dealing with both is really fucked up.

The actual trajectory of Democratic opposition to Trump since 2016 is that Democrats first engaged in #resistance and cultural progressivism, won the House in 2018, defeated Trump and won a trifecta the year of the George Floyd protests, tacked right under Biden, and lost in 2024.

you’re fired. wait you’re rehired. email us a list of things you’ve done today wait forget it you’re fired again. come back your job was important. you’re fired. or hired. come in to the office. wait the office has no computers go home. we are the department of government efficiency.

This is worth your time.

Why aren't Democrats talking like this?

We need more elected Dems who hate politics. We need folks who aren't "go along to get along" types. I want Dems who understand that the old ways of doing things are dead and that friendships with elected Republicans are now a conflict of interest.

It’s fun to whipsaw back and forth five times every day between “Don’t overreact to alarming news” and “OK should I be hoarding food or something.”

Do yourself a favor and just don’t look at your 401K for a few months.

Is there anyone less equipped for a post apocalyptic world than Musk?

Fuck... On top of everything, else 2025 takes Gene Hackman from us.

As someone who spent a good chunk of my career at vaccine companies, this would completely fuck manufacturing efforts

While these results don't bode well under any circumstances, doesn't it seem odd that ~25% of Democrats in this survey say they support an antidemocratic, strongman-led government?

I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute. The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud. This was the right and only appropriate response.

Why not be clear that this is exactly the point four Trump/Musk and all the other assholes like them?

It’s been a long fucking day, I’m tired, and I misspoke. Let me rephrase it in a more correct way. Fuck Hakeem Jeffries and almost every other elected Democratic official for forcing me to be the one to get arrested instead of them doing their goddamn job and being leaders.

If only we had a word for a shape with three sides.

The Onion out with the most truthful news again.

Exactly, what's always bugged me about this discourse is that if you compare the Most Online fringes of the left and the right, the right is far worse! Democrats are adding letters to "LGBT" while Republicans are planning a coup.

It's obviously important for elected officials to be accountable to voters. However, if I had a job where it took a bunch of strangers calling my office and telling me how to do things for me to make good choices, it would be fair to say I was bad at that job.

I have to fly in March and April and this makes me more than a little uneasy.
