I just wish companies were more honest about forms. If they don't want to pay a human to serve me, fine, just give me the form to fill out. A change of ownership request with my Telco used to be a 4 page form you could fill out in a couple minutes. Now it's a phone tree and a chat bot etc. etc.

Nothing to lose putting Greens above Labor with preferential voting.

Yep! I use Kiwix to keep a copy of Wikipedia on my phone too. Fantastic for when I've got no reception and want to settle an argument.

I guess if you exclusively program in languages without support for pattern matching and sum types your perception of a monad is pretty warped. I wonder what he'd say _isn't_ a monad...

Safer that way.

Just did exactly this for a business trip. Had my laptop charger for my laptop, work phone, personal phone, and the battery bank too (remote area). So much simpler than even just 10 years ago.

FTL and Into the Breach are iconic must-plays for everyone. Even if you don't end up liking it, they're both examplars of their respective genres.

Had a Time Steel for years and only stopped wearing it when the strap broke while riding my bike and 3 cars ran over the watch before I could pick it back up. It still worked, but the screen was too badly scratched up to read at a glance. Still the best watch I ever had.

I don't know what you mean by attempting; you're done!

Surely putting a CoPilot button inside every Excel cell, obscuring 20% of the cell's already limited screen real-estate, will make our users love us?!

Thanks, I'm glad you're able to get it working too! This is very recent support I've been working on over the past 4 months with help from everyone to get it merged and reviewed.

Yes! The `agb` crate I'm using for compatibility provides a custom global allocator, so the `alloc` crate just works!

And worse, you now have multiple subtly different copies of code spread out across the community that all need to be searched for to update when an API changes or a vulnerability is discovered. Dependencies exist whether you're hiding them in a copy-paste or not...

Disgusting. I don't understand being so insecure in my own existence that I'd need to assault someone over misplaced shame. I hope the girl is ok and able to get away from all this.

I was so worried this was going to be an Autism Speaks styled organisation spreading misinformation about dog autism. I'm so glad it's not that...

Controlled burnoff is one of the most important preventative measure for fighting fire. With sometyso devastating, prevention is the absolute best option. In Australia, I see controlled burns many times a year just in my local area.

That's just cool. Will need to keep that in mind next time I start and don't finish an IoT project.

Condolences. My fiance and I got our first dog together, Sunny, as a puppy. He's 8 months old now, and I see the same happy smile Malcolm has here all the time. Here's our boy, enjoying a frozen cucumber on the couch with us.

At this point it's WebAssembly or bust for new languages in the browser. Google owns Chrome and has invested far too manyz resources into making V8 as fast as possible for the web. However, Google does want to put a garbage collector into WASM, so maybe C# isn't too far away...

For me, it was buying a hammock and laying down outside. The gentle swing and the sound of the birds chirping has done wonders for my mental health.

I love this. Reminds me of a hand-written manifesto a neighbor left my friend which (among many other ramblings) asserted that numbers were wrong. That the true name of numbers has been lost, and what you and I would call "ten" should instead be called "onety". Meaning "twelve" is `oneto two"

It's a little less cozy, but I absolutely love Bad North. It's a little "real time" (you can pause at any time and plan moves) strategy game about defending little Nordic islands. I also adore Cataclismo as a city building / tower defense game.

Following you on Twitter did that for me, but by the time I got to Bsky there was already so much. If anything, since following you here I've seen less.

I had a phase of that recently. Stopped talking to friends, stopped engaging in my hobbies, just completely disconnected from my usual routine. It might sound silly, but what broke me out of my funk was getting a hammock and just resting outside sometimes. Probably different for everyone though...

I really despise the UIs in TV streaming apps. Loud autoplaying previews, no titles just posters, no simple alphabetical listing, useless ratings, and Netflix in particular hides whether a show is dubbed (I'm perfectly happy to use subtitles, but I like to know before I settle in)

Being able to treat politics as a game with good sportsmanship is a luxury for the privileged few.
