I’m not aware of anything Jon but you’re welcome to email us at [email protected] with further details so we can look into it.

That was the hope of the original offerings. We have had many changes since then, with at least one more on the horizon. Soon, I hope.

One thing I was able to do was start a Clear Writing workshop for staff. It was offered in 2023 and had 120 open spots for 3 hour workshops. My team and I took it and it was great. Next step - making it mandatory for everyone who writes for the public.

I really feel this one. I’ve been talking about Clear Writing Standards since I was elected. The confusion of these notices was actually what got me involved in municipal politics. Hoping to make some progress on this before the end of the term.

It's really unfortunate that right in the middle of making those very decisions, the condition of the roof was considered in bad shape. I'm hopeful the engineer's report will suggest a path forward and I've asked City staff to look at temporary, short, and medium term solutions.

And, as an aside, but I think it's important, I don't know why the previous Councillor didn't take action to renew this asset sooner. There were 2 public engagements during his tenure, but neither moved things forward. When I spoke to City staff on site, their main ask was for decisions to be made.

I'm just as bothered by the state of the assets in the lower city, especially considering how many people they serve. I've asked City staff to approach their implementation strategy from an equity perspective and to ensure we're doing better assessments of current assets in the future.

I hear you about Eastwood Arena. It's not in good shape. Waiting on the engineer's report, which should be back at some point this month. As for arenas elsewhere, we should build them in those areas as well. Folks in outlying areas need access to recreation assets.

Literally posting about it momentarily.

Classic whataboutism.

I didn't say I was a lone wolf, but I think it's a stretch to assume the kind of coordination you're suggesting. No one has time for that, to be completely frank. I'll leave it there. You're welcome to your opinion and I respect that.

I’m not running in the Federal election, but I understand you think everyone is operating as a group. I chose to run at the municipal level for many reasons but one of them was because I don’t see myself being an active part of any of the major political parties. I hope that helps.

We're going to have to find a way forward, together, in the wake of a third majority Ford government and do what we can to resist the harm coming our way. It's not going to be easy. Hamilton has long been known for its solidarity. We're going to need that now more than ever.

The Ford government will use this mandate to continue to punch down on the most vulnerable in our communities, to let the rental market rage out of control, and to erode our health care system on every front. These are dark times for many who can't bear another 4 years of this.

That's a huge task. Hamilton is looking bluer than ever after last night's vote and the Ford government has been handed another mandate. I'm worried for many in Ward 2 - a community of 80% renters and the poorest in Hamilton with an average household income at around $70k.

I don't predict she's suddenly going to abandon that advocacy now that she's been elected to represent Hamilton Centre. I'm expecting her to continue to push for better policy, more access, and a path toward life saving evidence based decision making at Queen's Park.

For those out there saying there's been a big political shift in Hamilton Centre as a result of last night's vote - I don't think so. MPP @robinlennoxmd.bsky.social is a doctor who spent much of her career advocating for vulnerable people, safe supply, and consumption and treatment sites.
