Back on challenge rating, I understand how hard it can be in games that don't have explicit character levels. Soulbound is a game where you just spend xp when you can buy a stat boost or skill rank etc so I understand not wanting to tackle the project of correlating x stats = y ideal challenge

i know that challenge rating has always been a little incorrect and has always had its detractors but now i'm encountering more and more games that give you no insight at all into enemy strength and as a new gm to the system its very daunting especially if you don't want your players to die too fast
