Warhammer can, and should, be funny. Both 40K and AOS are absurd, there is inherent comedy in them.

They should be seen as satire- huge absurd scenarios (flying cathedrals in space)
Huge armoured marines who prefer swords and hammers, as opposed to huge fecking guns that could blow away mountains...
Of course it has a comedy factor as such.
Its the mix between grimdark and just silly that makes it tick.
GoW does amp it up like space marines. But not that diverse.
Somewhere in 4th/5th edition grimdark went grimderp. Gloom for gloom sake.
No, I want my GSC limo and pimp Patriarch back, thankyouverymuch.
“Warhammer is fucking funny!”?
Just a thought.
There was always something tounge in cheek in the fiction extract boxes that were included in any article in the universe.
It’s hilarious.
Also, Cain and Jurgen ftw!
I defy anyone to look at Rogue Trader, Blood Bowl, Dark Future, etc and come to a different conclusion.
You've got Bloodbath At Orc's Drift, & a skeleton with a flaming skull called Mikael Jacsen released not long after a COMPLETELY unrelated singer accidentally set his hair alight
Deeply serious
Remember Desolation Marines? Their weapons were "funny" but not in a good way that suited the setting.
Based on some of the books, proportionally that's enough troops to fight a global war!
