It's that time again ☀️ February #Playlist 🎶 open.spotify.com/playlist/2cN...

Slightly different post. Some time ago, in May 2023, I sat down with Tommy Marren from Midwest Radio. I was asked to participate in their documentary series, 'Welcome to My World'. I talk about growing up in Achill, navigating life as a disabled child & teenager, grief & loss in my family 1/2

A quiet hobby I've had for 10+ yrs is making playlists, specifically monthly playlists! And other ones for 'gentle brain food', songs that feel like 'the grand stretch' or, if you fancy, 'bubblegum brain' This month I cheated a bit & combined Dec & Jan #SpĂŠirgorm open.spotify.com/playlist/73k...

An important milestone as part of a group I am involved with, NDPAC (National Disabled Postgraduate Advisory Committee). Very welcome inclusion of proposals in the Programme for Government regarding better support for postgrad students in Ireland. We have fast become a leading voice 1/3

I spent Christmas & New Year's at home on the Rock 🌊 I've not been able to spend much time there over the last couple of years, so made up for lost time! I got to finally show my partner some sights as we're now able to spin around 🚗 It was the reset I needed. Happy new year 💫 #Achill #Spéirgorm

‘We are still allowed to go inside a 5000 year old room. We are very fortunate.’ Dr Clare Tuffy. Take a moment to reflect and think of those that have had their heritage destroyed in the last year on this #newgrangesolstice

Ah winter solstice *don't say it* Won't be long now.. *don't say it* Until ya start to see.. *don't!* a bitta of the.. *keep it in* Grand stretch in it now #SpĂŠirgorm #wintersolstice

This would make a great Christmas present 🎁

Okay, the end of the year is in sight, so maybe it’s a good time for us to tell you about our financials, here at Dublin Inquirer HQ at the Digital Hub on Thomas Street in Dublin 8. We ask for transparency from others, so some transparency from us is good too, right? 1/

Doing the very last of my Christmas shopping online. Can't tell you how many times I've absentmindedly put down my Mayo address for delivery by accident (I'm Dublin-based) 😆 Definitely not on the countdown to head back down to the Rock 💚❤️ #Spéirgorm

Can I be Bffs with Holly and Phoebe? #SpĂŠirgorm #latelatetoyshow

Zara seems so clever. Think we should get her chairing the government formation talks. What do ye think? #SpĂŠirgorm #latelatetoyshow

It's #SpotifyWrapped time for the music lovers ✨ no surprises for me, whatsoever 😂 but this year they've rolled out a short AI generated podcast based on your taste, which sounds eerily convincing wrappedaipodcast.spotifycdn.com/b-TxJ0I4k8Hv... #SpéirGorm

Hello BlueSky #SpĂŠirGorm friends. I'm slowly getting to grips on this. I've mixed feelings about #IDPWD2024. What I will say: a disabling society clowns us all, we don't exist to make non-disabled ppl feel better about their own lives, it gets exhausting explaining why you're worth being 1/6

great and timely thread

Read this. Politicians don't get it - especially those who are in favour of cycling and limiting car traffic. I have a very mild physical disability with my legs. I can walk about 200 meters without my walking stick. I'm not seen as disabled enough to get a blue badge for my car which I depend on.

Important thread re disability. #GE24 #SpĂŠirGorm

I've largely stayed 🤫 during #GE24 as my energy needs to be prioritised on other commitments. While disability, arguably, has never been more prominent as a concern in an election here before, there was a massive missed opportunity in how it has been framed across the board 1/4
