It's absurd how much people take modern medicine for granted For much of human history, cancer was largely just a death sentence. By the 1970s, overall, it was about a coinflip, roughly 50/50 chance of surviving it. Now, about 80% of people who get cancer survive at least 5 years. That's amazing!
