As promised, here are the slides I shared with students to convince them to NOT use chatGPT and other artificial stupidity. TL;DR? AI is evil, unsustainable and stupid, and I'd much rather they use their own brains, make their own mistakes, and actually learn something. 🪄

More and more people pointing to distinctions between the Trump/Musk gov’t and a fascist regime—true, not fully there yet—as a way of avoiding plain evidence, long on the table, that this is a fascist movement. Not fully consolidated. I believe we need to name it to stop it from getting there.

AP could have been cowardly and rolled over for Trump. “We had to comply or we’d lose [funding/access/privileges]” like so many orgs are doing. It would have been easy for them to say “gulf of America” But it never stops there. They got the memo. Good job AP.

In a small trial, nearly half of pancreatic cancer patients who received an mRNA vaccine had no signs of relapse after three years. Dr. Vinod Balachandran from @mskcancercenter.bsky.social joins us to discuss the results and what they could mean for cancer treatment.

I love how the Dems have not done anything and they're still getting investigated. Almost like trying to appease fascists never works!!!

On DEIA in the military and why we need it: “Diversity and Inclusion impact readiness. When we breed a culture of hate and division, we are not a ready force.” Read the whole piece here: open.substack.com/pub/whatmove...

It seems almost unavoidable at this point that we are headed for a deep, deep recession. Just based on 200K+ federal firings & pullback of contracts, the March employment report (to be released April 4) seems certain to show bigger job losses than any month ever outside of a few in 2008-9 and 2020.

If anyone needs me, I’ll be in my mind palace.

I wrote about managing overwhelm during these times and about practices that can help us regulate our emotions on our own and in our organizing groups.

I think some people, including on campuses, are unwilling to confess what's happening. They thought the HR version of DEI was silly. So they've railed against it at times. So they feel awkward speaking up. But Trump isn't ending DEi. He's overseeing the full scale resegregation of American society.

Targeting trans people, Black people, immigrants etc is not a “distraction” from fascism, it IS fascism. It lives in complementary relationship to destroying democracy, because democracy is inherently about participation of minorities.

Telling average citizens to only call Republican reps instead of their own Dem reps, is as passive-aggressive as Thoughts and Prayers. It's a bad faith brush off.

An answer to the question circulating this week about whether to use US flags at protests

Self care is part of resistance.

I don't know how to say this beyond standing up to authority is a muscle and some of you have never exercised it

Slowing down from real time investigative work but one of my sources confirmed this @wired.com's report yesterday: "BFS is treating Marko's resignation as a cybersecurity breach. The cyber teams are working overtime to analyze the forensic artifacts Marko left behind and determine what he saw/did."

Instead of letting people work from home, why not turn them into serfs?

On an earnings call, the CEO of Palantir talked openly about killing “enemies,” then added, “I’m sure you’re enjoying this as much as I am!” www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

What if, and I'm just spitballing here, it's NOT a distraction from something else? What if NONE of it is a distraction, but their actual agenda?

attempting to describe the vibes of the moment. have yet to do better than: "imagine watching a documentary reenacting the burning of the Library of Alexandria set to the soundtrack of 'Yakety Sax'"

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

I see some of you saying that the Democrats warned that all of this would happen with Tr*mp 2 and let's say you're right/correct. Why then were they not prepared to counter from day 1 when he won? Why are they so ineffective? Why should people entrust them with power in the future?

In terms of how empires fall stories turning the whole thing over to a ketamine addled tech baron and a band of incel teens is probably one of the most pathetic options

seeing takes about the aid institutions and their role in imperialism. correct. If someone said "investor-owned hospitals exploit the vulnerable to benefit shareholders" I'd nod. If their followup was "and that's why I'm turning off your mom's dialysis machine" I'd...have some followup questions

I said I would do this last night but I was too tired so lets do it today. A few caveats - not saying this list is exhaustive, it's just a good place to start. It's also not in chronological order because I'm a chaos gremlin
