Shared this three years ago. Ukrainian iconographer Ivanka Demchuk created this icon of St. George, triumphing over the serpent ⚓

Good Morning from the Cathedral of our Merciful Saviour: This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it ⚓️

I urge everyone to pray for friends in the Episcopal diocese in Wyoming, who will vote tomorrow at a Special Convention on whether or not to accept Bp. Todd Ousley as their bishop provisional until they can begin a search and election for their own bishop. www.episcopalwy.org/special-conv... ⚓

Lost in the cloud, a voice. Have no fear! We draw near! Lost in the cloud, a sign. Son of man! Turn your ear. Lost in the cloud, a voice. Lamb of God! We draw near! Lost in the cloud, a sign. Son of man! Son of God! (Ivanka Demchuk's Icon, Sufjan Stevens' "Transfiguration"). ⚓️

Preaching and teaching the gospel should never be hortatory, but revelatory. A sermon should not end with "let us..." but with promise--a scriptural promise from the Father in Jesus Christ with the power of the Spirit. (and by the way, politicians should never say "I promise you...")

The man we know as St David, or Dewi Sant in Welsh, lived in the sixth century in the west of the island of Britain. He founded a monastic community on the site of what is now St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire ✍️ Helen Fulton, Jonathan M. Wooding wp.me/p8Mk4U-VTq

Happy St. David's Day! Not me, the real St. David, Patron Saint of Wales. My Dad's mum was a Vaughan. Our Vaughan line emigrated from Glamorganshire, Wales, to Newport, Rhode Island in 1638, and then to Chester, Nova Scotia in 1765 ⚓

For St. David's Day, there's nothing better than the Kid's in the Hall classic, "These are the Dave's I Know": youtu.be/8nvzEqsZIGo?...

Up in northern Minnesota for Clergy Conference. Expect to see lots of wildlife at our lodge, oh, and this moose. ⚓

Today we will baptize one of the guests at last Spring's Alpha course. Thanks be to God! ⚓️

It's been a long few months here in the US and my home and native land of Canada. Political weariness, and wariness. Praying the Supplication is, "especially appropriate in times of war, or of great anxiety, or of disaster".⚓️

Set us free heavenly Father from every bond of prejudice and fear; that, honoring the steadfast courage of your servant Absalom Jones, we may show forth in our lives the reconciling love and true freedom of the children of God, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ. ⚓️

Praying this a lot.

Here’s a thought for Canadian sports fans protesting Trump’s tariff threats: Instead of booing, sit down and stay quiet during the U.S. anthem. To paraphrase Joe Cocker, you can leave your toque on.🇨🇦

Christ says: Give me this fisherman, this man without education or experience, this man to whom no senator would deign to speak, not even if he were buying fish. Yes, give me him; once I have taken possession of him, it will be obvious that it is I who am at work. ⚓ --Augustine

Onboarded our new Vestry today. Included introducing them to the Canons of this Church, reviewing with them the whole of Title IV Clergy Discipline canon in particular. Seems the proper thing to do. ⚓

Since hearing (from a very credible source) about the arrest and detention of a Canadian citizen and U.S. permanent resident by ICE over the weekend, I can’t get it out of my mind. Today I left the house without my wallet and my first thought was “How can I prove I’m a citizen?” I don’t like this.

My book on the season of Easter is out & about in the world as of **today**! 🥳

LORD, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; To be a light to lighten the Gentiles, and to be the glory of thy people Israel. ⚓

The Holy Mother Mary, who is the symbol of the church presents the infant Christ, the eternal Word of God, in the temples of our souls. Those temples are to be sanctuaries of his presence, the altars of offering and sacrifice, “in spirit and in truth”. --Robert Crouse ⚓

Okay, Canada, time to turn off the oil and natural gas pipelines. Just shut ‘em off and wait.

We are not amused.

It's been a long few months in my adoptive country. Politics has worn people down. Disasters and wars in the news that break the heart. A sense of heaviness and weariness. As a Staff we prayed the Supplication recently: "especially appropriate in times of war, or of great anxiety, or of disaster". ⚓

From the Prayer Book Society of Canada: Today in the Church calendar we commemorate the life and witness of Charles Stuart, King and Martyr (1600-1649). We especially remember in prayer those ministries thar bear his name. ⚓️
