I’ve almost been a professional screenwriter more times than I care to count. And several agents’ assistants have loved my books, even if their bosses didn’t.

Well, aren’t you a tease?

Agreed. I’ve never been a fan of Goodfellas (or Scorsese, to tell the truth).

He may sound like an idiot, but his ultimate goal is to replace income taxes with his regressive tariff system.

To be fair, obstruction only works if you control at least one chamber of Congress. Dems can only obstruct on votes that require 2/3 majority in the Senate, and there’s fewer of those votes than there used to be.

I’m a Florida voter. There has been . I’ve read them. You just about summed them up.

So true. At the time, it was hilarious to read. Anyone with a brain was sending links to that Blade 2 review for giggles. All of that guy’s reviews were terrible in their own unique ways (my God, those ellipses). But in hindsight, it was poisonous to younger geeks and therefore not at all funny.

Well, if men’s teams turn trans, and women’s teams turn trans, wouldn’t that just even out in the end?

What’s not due process about tattooing someone you don’t like with a gang symbol so there’s evidence for deporting them to an El Salvadoran concentration camp?

There was that flat earther documentary on Netflix where they bought a $10k piece of equipment to prove that the earth is flat. When it didn’t give them the results they wanted they started banging on it with a hammer. There is no “convincing” some people.

Eh, I get what you’re saying but there are already 20 or so Bo d movies like that. If they can’t offer a new take, then why bother? I love Bond movies. Grew up watching them. But it may be time to let him go.

My dad died in June of that year. Not from Covid, he had a stroke. But because of Covid protocols I couldn’t visit him and say goodbye.

Still so angry I was gerrymandered out of your district.

Hey now! That’s not…entirely…inaccurate. Crud.

Can we stop calling them “entitlements.” They’re payments from systems we’ve been paying into our entire working lives. Would you call insurance payouts an entitlement?

In fact, I’m gonna re-read Andy Weir’s book since it is even more so all those things than the movie. It’s just great as well.

After I crossed a certain age threshold, I stopped engaging with discussions on movies I don’t like. There are plenty of popular films that for whatever reason weren’t my cup of tea and I just don’t think about them much. Life’s too short to obsess over things that I dislike.

Megalopolis steelbook? You, sir, are a steely eyed missile man.

The scandal isn’t that a reporter was looped into a group chat with classified material. It’s the fact they had this discussion on an unsecured channel. What other conversations have been unsecured that both allies and enemies can easily listen in on?

I’ve never understood why it matters which one is the Thing at the end. The very notion that one of them could be is the terrifying part. That’s what makes it an apocalyptic ending, and why the ending is an all-timer.

The nostalgia well is decidedly run dry. It’s time to dig in and do the serious work of developing something new that can become cherished IP in the future.

And the trick is a lot of these are not well-known IP. Not many teens and 20s know Body Heat. Altered States? That was pretty obscure in the 80s. Single White Female? A product of its time. Toxic Avenger is the definition of a cult classic.

Netflix’s model isn’t making good movies (I haven’t seen this one). It’s making enough movies/shows that LOOK good so people keep subscribing in hopes that one will be good.
