George Zimmerman and Kyle Rittenhouse are walking free! They're doing fucking speaking tours!

This is the ultimate dick boss move from Musk - except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a dick.

seriously wtf people!

Jeffries: hey the GOP controls the government, absolutely nothing i can do, gonna work on my personal book tour Sanders: brb i am going to personally barnstorm strategic GOP house districts and try to peel off 2 votes so we can block Trump's cuts to Medicaid www.commondreams.org/news/bernie-...

At the Long Beach Tesla Takedown, lots of folks out here (I’d estimate probably 40-50 so far) and lots of support from cars driving by. Come out and join!

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

lol

I literally reported this Wednesday.

The student who ripped this sign down did more for trans people than most of our politicians.

Since I’ve been getting this a lot - if you feel like supporting me by buying a jersey or something, I would rather you make a donation to Trans Lifeline or The Trevor Project www.thetrevorproject.org

Extortion.

Of the Chiefs of Staff, vice chiefs of staff, and judge advocates general of the three branches, Trump fired all the women and Black people.

This is a stunning betrayal by Whitman Walker in DC. You CANNOT jettison the trans community to protect yourself. It’s shameful. I got my name changed at WWH. I have promoted their research. Now they are capitulating to save gay people at trans people’s expense by trying to erase us.

Usually when states go to court alleging federal coercion in violation of the 10th Amendment there is not a literal video of the President doing it.

Did you know that LPAC-endorsed MN City Council member Andrea Jenkins was the FIRST EVER Black trans woman elected to office in the US? Hear from her live at our #BlackHistoryMonth briefing on Monday! Registration is free, and required at teamlpac.com/briefing.

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!

Good words here. When Rs break with Trump on an issue like this let’s encourage it.

This is quite significant in many ways: the overt thuggery, Trump’s barely suppressed fury at being contradicted by a woman, the governor’s standing up, the total abandonment of the pretense of federalism, the continuing use of trans Americans the way Hitler used Jews.

Oh fuck, what a grift. J6 terrorists sue a DOJ controlled by Trump; Trump orders DOJ lawyers to settle for an undisclosed amount, both sides agree to an NDA. This can happen dozens, hundreds of times. Just an ingenious way to funnel tax dollars to far-right terrorist groups.

"Let's figure out why men become Nazis" isn't a particularly rewarding game, in my opinion. Yes, everyone has reasons for what they do, but the answer to "why does a white man embrace a political system in which white men alone hold power" is fairly self-evident.

Getting cited by a judge for the proposition that SCOTUS is just chaotically throwing around unhinged ideas is definitely a major “achievement unlocked” moment. My envy is so green you’d think I was a leprechaun.

These things are GLUED together 🤣 www.roadandtrack.com/news/a638572...

this is the most accurate and succinct way I have ever read someone sum up the Myth of White Upward Mobility that many people our age (older millennials) grew up with. our grandparents lived through the depression, yes, but they were not "self-made".

"When you picture federal employees, you might imagine bureaucrats in suits and ties in pristine DC offices..." But over 250k federal workers are in rural counties "in positions like park rangers, field biologists, or grazing managers, just to name a few." dailyyonder.com/federal-layo...

Something we all should remember, as we talk about worst case scenarios and ways to plan for and survive them: It's very much worth remembering that we collectively can and will survive them. And, we will build something beautiful on the ashes of their corrupt and childish violence.

all of central Brooklyn is playing a game of Egg The Cybertruck with this one guy who keeps street parking in the hood

here is the thing about the “argument” that democrats should have run roughshod over the law when they had the chance: it is much easier to break the law to destroy a program than break the law to create one.

I missed this earlier today: one of Michigan’s two Republican justices announced her retirement today. Gretchen Whitmer will appoint her replacement. That will likely bring Democrats’ majority on this key court to 6-1.

I know we talk about this constantly but it is truly one of the greatest mindfucks of my lifetime. as an 80s kid a Nazi was the most unambiguously, nonnegotiably evil thing you could even be ADJACENT TO, like morality for kindergarteners, and now we have to relitigate that shit every day???? ffs

I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute. The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud. This was the right and only appropriate response.

This just came up so for anyone who doesn't know - .AI files are *a vector file type*, they are Adobe Illustrator's native file type. Files ending with .ai don't have anything to do with /that/ kind of AI 🫶 Pls don't call out an artist bc you see them working on an .ai file

Look I know it's a cliché, but call your fucking reps. They don't get scared unless they hear from an overwhelming number of us all the time. Call them every damn day. Tell them to fight the hell back and protect us from Musk and Trump. It matters and it makes a difference, right now. reps.fyi

By the way, this is one of the issues where you might be able to make some headway with GOP reps if you live in a rural district. It has always been the heavily red rural districts that stopped them from destroying USPS in the past. Reps know their constituents depend on USPS.

This is Buster. He's having the best day ever. Gets to play in the pool AND get rained on at the same time. 13/10 every lab's dream

If you are a cis person *please* take 2 minutes to do this. Trans people with non-updated gender markers, historical gender marker changes, and X markers are terrified to travel right now; rolling back this policy would mean a lot.

I really enjoy seeing traditionally, perhaps even stereotypically masculine men also be legit good dudes Earlier today JD Vance claimed our culture tries to suppress masculinity just bc men wanna tell jokes over beers; the implicit part here is that the jokes are, like Vance, bigoted and unfunny

If you’re wondering why I declined to talk to the NYTimes, then you haven’t been following my account for very long. They bear a direct responsibility for the current situation we find ourselves in, and I responded by laying out my position and that I would only talk to @jamellebouie.net

Happening now: protesters are outside the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago this evening. People are in line to see House of Reps Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for an event tonight promoting his recently released book. Crowd chanting at them, "we don't need a book tour!"

Most people probably aren’t tracking this but Senate Republicans just started an all-night voting marathon that will allow them to gut Medicaid and increase child hunger while giving handouts to billionaires like Elon Musk.

I've been writing a series of essays for PBS on men whose style I admire. The latest is about James Baldwin, a man who knew how to sing through clothes. www.pbs.org/wnet/america...
