I was just thinking that every accusation is a confession, so is what we’re witnessing the rapid deterioration of a Trump clone?

Yes! Ask their doctor - many regions offer an early vaccination, as soon as 6 months. If my kids were that young, that’s what I would be doing.

Wise. A Canadian woman was arrested, charged, and jailed in Georgia for driving with a (valid) CDN driver’s license. Officer said that’s not legal (it is). Denied her request to call the consulate. She only got out by paying more than 1000 USD in bail. If one law can be disregarded, any law can.

That’s even more disturbing? Someone went to a lot of effort to create an intentionally misleading photo op. Do they have cocktail glasses stocked in the CECOT kitchen? Quite the premeditation.

You must be so immensely proud of your daughter. If you’ve raised a fair minded child who knows her own worth and stands up for injustice, you’ve succeeded at parenting. I hope the girls get many more opportunities to run together and support each other.

Some people sadly get stuck at the top of that Dunning-Kruger peak, and they never take the plunge into reality and self-awareness.

Yeah, what’s that they’re exporting?

Election workers go to hospitals as well, so everyone has the opportunity to vote. Poll workers can also accommodate curbside voting if you can’t get out of your vehicle due to accessibility issues.

Three strikes and you’re… eligible to be premier?

That was my exact reaction. Coupled with the new ‘Soggy straws, amirite?’ Position, I find it insulting.

Most industrialized countries legislate all of that shit, if not all.
It’s really just the US that worships business and holds its wants as sacred, over the lives of people.

I’m stuck on not being able to legislate how private companies work. Of course you can. Even theUS does, though barely.
Companies are not people, they don’t have rights. People do, however. You can legislate all sorts of protections for people, if you care to.

But the SC has decided he’s immune from all those things if he’s president while he’s doing them.

But jailed by whom? The judges are standing up, but the Trump administration has removed anyone in a position to enforce these rulings. Your government requires your president to follow the Constitution, and he’s blatantly choosing not to. I think the only thing left now is for Congress to impeach.

Yes, what am I missing here? They’re not being sent home, they’re kidnapping them and trapping them in a third country without any kind of due process.

I believe this is, deep down, believed by the majority of Americans. US exceptionalism is a core belief from birth.

Fox News isn’t news, it’s designated as ‘entertainment’. They used this as a defense in court to say that no reasonable person expects FOX News to be truthful.

Does Danielle Smith have no shame at all? Does she hear these outrageous statements and still refuse to play on Team Canada’s side?

Just one thing - it’s not a tariff. It’s a surcharge on exported electricity. Power tax, maybe, but not a tariff. Important different bc it means the US pays extra, not Ontario.

I’m more curious as to what Lutnick said to him today to get him to back down before we got actual results.

This just in: only island nations are to be recognized. Good news, Aus and NZ. Bad news, Europe, most countries.

They swore to honour the will of the people’s vote, and it appears the people chose this. Congress is the check and balance that is opting out.

That’s up to the people, not former leaders. You demand honesty and rule of law, and you do it loudly and relentlessly. They can’t do it for you and respect the institutions they swore an oath to. And it doesn’t seem like people are ready to take to the streets yet.

If one law doesn’t matter, none of them do. You honour the constitution or you don’t have one. I’m not American but I was thinking about how any of this could be fixed, and I think it comes down to expecting 100% honesty from your politicians or impeaching them. Words have to matter again.

I’d pay a lot to be a fly on the wall of the residences of some former presidents these days.

It’s an electricity surcharge. It’s the opposite of a tariff because Ontario is collecting it on exports to the US. If it was a tariff, Ontario would be collecting it on electricity imports FROM the US.
Particularly bc the White House keeps getting this wrong, intentionally or not.

Not even close to being our fault . According to the Globe, even the border officials in the area say the fentanyl is coming from the southern border.

Agreed, but those 43 lbs were seized in the Northern region of the US and apparently automatically attributed to the northern border.

Well, Republicans have control of both houses, right? So why not use the appropriate power to revoke house-approved funding and dismantle house-approved agencies?
The constitution is what gives all power or authority in the US, and it gives citizens their rights. Ignore it once, ignore it forever.
