A terrible legacy that she left already visible on so many fronts - German politics, security, economy, society and credibility of Germany as a leader in Europe. It will take a long time and decisive actions to restore the above.

Great to have your account and perspective of the actions/inactions of states and leaders. While waiting the book, curious if Bulgaria's Kiril Petkov and Asen Vasilev are included and how Poland is presented (from a healthy mistrust of German literature and media covering geopolitics)?

If the German corporatist industry economy can do one thing, it is to produce and export stuff. It is to say the least a very flawed method, but I hope the Germans see a lifeline again and start producing ammo and panzer as long as they can and as long as they are on our side

True, and Trump's actions (not words) have been much better than Big Western Europeans: he started to arm Ukraine (after Obama refused), and acted against China. Let's see what his actions this time will be.

He is quite young, seems to have quite firm anti-socialist stand. Does he have a good reputation in Poland?

Is the PiS candidate chosen? Having Trump as a president makes it good if they have a winning one. Good play by Sikorski and Duda prior the US elections.

Heiko Maas and co. laughed at Trump in 2018 on his request to spend more on defense. Now Germany is thankfully not in a position to laugh and has to listen to it's neighbours and allies

and here the situation in Germany "These figures suggest that the total number of building permits for the year may barely surpass 200,000, falling far short of the German government’s target of 400,000 new homes annually." www.refire-online.com/markets/germ....

as said, you are right on Scholz and most people are aware what a disaster he is even before being Kanzler. But there are many signs that he is not alone in this, look at the policy of CDU of Merkel, the Greens continuing to send strings words not actions, German companies exports to Tajikistan:)

If CDU forms a new govt that takes decisive steps in strengthening European security, we will then be talking about Germany's success and high moral standards and it would be true. If it fails, it will not be Merz' failure only.

Good, but please change "Scholz" with "Germany" until actions prove otherwise. The problem is much deeper than one person, same as why it is Russian's war and not Putin's

Scholz calling and Putin answering serves them both domestically, at the expense of Ukraine. Scholz is trying to link with lefties and Russian friendly folks as a "Friedenskanzler" before the early elections, Putin as a confirmation of his strength. Scholz is continuing German tradition of...

Correct. As Europeans, we have to also be able to choose our leaders. Listen to European states that made the right choices and defend our security - such as Baltic states, Poland, Scandinavian. These are the European leaders at the moment.

what is also more important is the time when the help was provided.

And this is what Poland officially has provided as help:

If this really happens and Austria starts to take decisive steps away from Muskovy, I expect it will be loud and unpleasant for many Austrians for a long time. I hope it will.

he is not scholzing around when he wants to talk to Putin, only when he needs to take action to defend freedom. And in case someone reminds him of his dubious dealings, he "does not remember". But all is in line what his predecessors Merkel and Schroeder, and ... did
