Booksellers have faced censorship and harassment defending the freedom to read. Celebrate your local bookstore and support their ongoing role in safeguarding intellectual freedom. press.princeton.edu/ideas/bookst... #BookstoreDay

The confinement over the fourth nuclear reactor at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant has not been functioning properly for almost three months. On Feb. 14, a Russian drone hit the structure over the nuclear facility, creating a 15-meter hole and jeopardizing atomic safety in Europe.

Let's discuss the *actual* charges against Judge Hannah Dugan using the Complaint against her. tl;dr - she sent the man in question into the public hallway where agents there to arrest him watched him walk by and did nothing. 1/ storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Colleagues, the autism registry doesn’t exist without our participation Repeat after me: fuck you, make me If you care about Autistic people “Fuck you, make me.”

This isn't going to end until the judges start holding lawyers and DOJ officials in contempt and throwing them in jail. Even that might not end it, but there's no point trying to delay the inevitable. They're just getting bolder and more destructive as they go.

Revealing just how selectively this administration respects national sovereignty. With Canada and Greenland, Trump threatens invasion enthusiastically. With El Salvador, Trump sees sovereignty as sacrosanct.

You set the house on fire, watched it burn, and then lost your nerve and put it out. You now have a partially burned house. Great job.

FUNDSTRAT tonight: “.. in the last few days, we have had many conversations with macro fund managers. .. A few have quietly wondered if the President might be insane.”

The message is: crowd large. Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift. Events like this puncture that delusion.

This is a sobering and comprehensive disassembly of the insanity we saw this week.

Randy Fine, running in FL’s special election next week, threatened to defund the Special Olympics because they invited a school board member he didn’t like to an event. t.co/IpUownJHA9

WOW. Watch a constitutional law expert completely DEBUNK Republicans’ censorship crusade, while articulating exactly how Donald Trump is threatening freedom of speech. 🔥

(ProPublica) - Elon Musk’s aerospace giant SpaceX allows investors from China to buy stakes in the company as long as the funds are routed through the Cayman Islands or other offshore secrecy hubs, according to previously unreported court records. @jeisinger.bsky.social

Goldberg said the level of detail in the targeting package that he received via Signal was down to the *names of individuals* to be killed. That’s the good stuff that includes all kinds of sources and methods and never should have been outside a SCIF. I’d be in prison if I fucked up that bad.

“But no one in the wider world can appreciate how stressful it is to confront an executive order like this until one is directed at you.” --Brad Karp. Fuck you, you coward.

Hey, Politico -- I consider myself to have "long-term standing in the private legal community" and I have been willing to speak out almost every single day. And, I'm not alone. Yes, there is widespread cowardice among law firms, but don't ignore those refusing to bow down. Defiantly, Marc Elias

I am proud of the NWSL community we’ve built in DC, which is 19,254 people yelling “ref you suck” #WASvKC

Can confirm “State of Maine” hasn’t apologized. (As the official keeper of all state records and guardian of the seal ;))

Oakland Roots' first game at the Coliseum attracted a sold-out crowd of 26,575 👏 Only one USL Championship club has ever drawn a bigger crowd. A city put through so much unfair sporting agony showing up and showing out 🖤

“Todd Wolfson, the president of the American Association of University Professors, a nat’l faculty rights group, described the move as the greatest incursion into academic freedom & free speech since Sen Joseph R. McCarthy’s crusade against communism in the 1950s.” www.nytimes.com/2025/03/22/n...

Shot. Chaser.

"I really tried to hear him defend his actions in good faith, but by the end of their discussion, it just felt impossible for me to avoid this very deep sense of dangerous foreboding. Big ‘tempting fate’ energy in the worse way. Honestly scary." charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/calls-grow...

Florida today is your last day to request mail in ballots

This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

NEW: If the executive branch refuses to obey court orders, federal judges have a few ways to ensure compliance — and must exercise these options, Rutgers Law Professor @david.noll.org writes.

WaPo readers need to realize that every opinion piece they read is now the product of Bezos' rightwing censorship rules. Whether the author self censors or Post management does it after review, the result is the same. This is what oligarch controlled media looks like.

ATLANTIC: “Part of the risk (of Trump letting Musk make 🇺🇸 air traffic control dependent on Starlink for billions of dollars) is Musk could simply choose to switch it off.” We have reached Bond villain territory. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Stop listening to dinosaurs. Stop paying the consultants that got us here. Stop asking for money instead of telling us what you’re going to do to fight back. The DC bubble has never been more glaring to me than ever. People out here are absolutely pissed and scared. Figure that out fast!

Well said!

OMFG

This is How They Ban Birth Control "One of the reasons some people don’t believe that Republicans are banning birth control is that they’re imagining some sweeping bill that says contraception is now illegal. But that’s not how it works."

Yesterday, every American who loves freedom and democracy and the other values for which prior generations fought and sacrificed found themselves aligned against our own president and vice president. The pro-American president in the Oval Office Friday was Zelensky.

NEW: Donald Trump fired a bunch of veterans today while simultaneously hindering care for veterans. In a month or so, republicans in Congress will cut food stamps so these veterans won’t be able to feed themselves or their families. I wonder how many of them voted for Trump.

Sound up

No one elected Elon Musk, yet he is aggressively attacking our federal agencies and trying to purge the federal workforce. We're dedicated to exposing the Trump administration's threats to democracy and how the courts are handling it. Support our work:
