Definitely best to just follow what you're passionate about now and not force it, sometimes you just need a break.

There are more movies than ever and a lot of them are great weird passion projects. The Substance came out just last year and was 10/10 for me, it's often just about exploring outside of the mainstream (apologies if you already do that (and also I know The Substance is pretty mainstream)).

Also would like to point out that wealth/productivity is created, by workers, and then concentrated into the hands of the owning class. If people actually got fairly compensated for their value it might be okay, instead having money automatically makes you more money without having to work.

I have a full time job, but we are capable of living in a post scarcity society with reduced population via AI and automation if not for people with your perspective. It was theorised in the early 20th century that we would only have to work 15 hour weeks due to automation, instead we get Elon Musk.

The growth at all costs model of organising the global economy is fundamentally unsustainable anyway. Automation is going to lead to a massive employment crisis over the next decade, a sane society would spread that benefit around society, ours will concentrate the wealth into the hands of 0.1%

Was there coffee in the Starbucks cup that turned up in that episode of Game of Thrones?

I am comfortable that if the world ends I won't have to worry about not having enough games to play. I might finally have the time to get into Paradox games too!

Thanks for the apology, tone is tough on the internet, I'm just having a bad day so took it badly. Cheers for the clarification.

I appreciate this, thanks.

I wasn't doing a personal attack, just having a discussion. But yeah I only really have 2 close friends and a girlfriend so that hurt my feelings. Do you feel good now? Did personally attacking me satisfy you? Came here to get away from this kind of stuff, you're the first person to be like this.

Bit low on nutrients but who cares, it's delicious and better than a lot of alternatives! Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a pedant I just get a bit frustrated at people who think they need to drink protein shakes all day when they work in an office (not saying that's you!)
comment in response to post
Yeah I know fat isn't unhealthy inherently, it was two separate rebuttals - one about the healthiness of protein, another about the proteininess of ricotta.
comment in response to post
All foods high in protein aren't inherently healthy. See - fried chicken, processed meat, red meat (when considering heart health and cancer risk). Also ricotta is like 50-60% fat and 15-20% protein by calories and by weight has about 50% more fat than protein.

I swear my ginger waits until I pick up a controller to start miaowing and pawing at me for strokes. He is VERY cute and fluffy tho.

I used to be a big reader too and would spend many a night consuming books by the light of a fibre optic UFO lamp.

Being able to play 1/4 of the time when passing streetlights was good enough before you got the accessories.

Also shout-out to the stupid but at the time awesome Game Boy Camera.

My dad used to own a coach company and I spent many day trips to France and Belgium with a magnifying light playing Pokémon Blue/Red/Yellow/Gold/Silver.

I refuse to pay for Extra even though I wanna play Dying Light 2.

I can cope with 30fps in games once I get used to it but framerate is such a bigger deal to actual play experience than high resolution. I remember almost quitting the Mad Max game when I realised it was locked to 30. Anything twitchy really needs to be 60fps (*cough* Bloodborne).

Gonna pull the trigger on one of these with some Christmas money, just hope I don't have to ethernet my PS5 to get good latency because that'll be logistically awkward (cats and cables running across the living room aren't a great mix).
comment in response to post
Yeah it was pretty great. Not being able to do assassinations from above and simplistic combat are my only real complaints. AC2 fixed both of these and is the peak of the series as far as I'm aware, though I haven't played 3 or Unity.

I think I'm a movie fan then I see a list like this and only recognise 3 of the films (and haven't seen any!) The 3 I recognise are Blue Velvet, Metropolis and The Wicker Man. Maybe I'll use this as a jumping off point!

The .5 comes off for the excessive violin noises that often alert you to enemy presence before you see them, robbing you of the joy of being shanked in the back by a monster made of knives.

Best in the series in my opinion (closely followed by 3). Truly prophetic stuff, and the tanker level demo from the Zone of the Enders game is a core memory for me. Will check this out.

Gonna be honest, that's a fair trade. Half Life 2 is great but Left4Dead(2) remains the best horde shooter in existence.

It's definitely a very compelling story, it's just a shame that it plays in such a generic way, but I guess that could be part of the point?
comment in response to post
Yeah I played on hard and that was perfect, the threat of having to restart the entire game is not for me! I love the gradual feeling of empowerment tempered by suddenly having to use all your ammo on a room full of horrors, and Lovecraftian monstrosities beyond human comprehension are my fave!

PS2/Xbox 360 were peak consoles for the breadth and quality of games. Favourite games include Sekiro (#1), Titanfall 2 (multiplayer), Bloodborne, Devil May Cry 3, Shadow of the Colossus and Resident Evil 4.
