I’m planning a trip to Japan and want to visit the Fujifilm Square and Photo Museum. Photography is not allowed in the facility. 🤣 🙃 fujifilmsquare.jp/en/faq.html

I've been seeing lots of super compelling videos of park rangers and federal lawyers and other federal workers telling their stories. Talking about what they did at their job, how it helped the American people, and why they want to keep doing those jobs. This is the way.

I feel like I've been really negative on social media as of late. Not without reason mind you. So here's some good news. www.npr.org/2025/02/17/n...

NY Gov. Kathy Hochul’s response: “We are a nation of laws, not ruled by a king. The MTA has initiated legal proceedings in the Southern District of New York to preserve this critical program. We’ll see you in court.”

Incredible stuff in here: They ID'ed him, in part, by going to court hearings and watching him post

For no reason, was reminded of the Virginia state flag today. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...

LET'S FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Even behind a paywall, it is good to see Wikipedia featured in Nature! www.nature.com/articles/d41... Link via the Wikipedia Library, for Wikimedians: www-nature-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/articles/d41... (1/2)

I think "flamboyantly evil" is the right way to describe this. I don't understand the moral universe of people who could post something like this.

The more I think about it the angrier I get. This is so deeply disrespectful: to readers, to colleagues (at Politico and in the industry), to anyone who is covered by this publication. This person is genuinely, openly ignorant and proud of it, while shaping our news and information environment.

People like Ethan are why working at 18F was (up until recently) a career goal for me and a lot of other people. This is the important work we should be doing but because of the madness going on right now, we can no longer have nice things.

you guys gotta stop getting riled up by random accounts that only have 140 followers

History: “Eventually the incompetent fascists invariably lose power and then society recovers in a new and stronger way” Me: “Oh, cool, so what has to happen for the spell to be broken??” History: “mmmm…well, that part is less encouraging.”

i tell this story every time these old photos come up but: I remember in film school one of my classmates asked what about film chemistry in the 1970s caused everything shot in NYC to look so brown and grimy and our professor was like "that wasn't the film, that's just what the air looked like here"

jamelle is correct

Instead of taking pictures of your camera, take pictures with your camera.

As someone who camps at Yosemite a few times every year... this is frustrating. And so pointless.

Social media is dumb.

Go watch “Perfect Days”. It’s such a lovely slice of life film.

It's going to be a long four years, especially if we make ourselves insane misreading budget documents. This is a story where multiple things are true at the same time and it's a warning about how we consume information going forward gizmodo.com/the-400-mill...

The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.” Huge.
