And just to be obvious, if this isn’t the moment to use every parliamentary procedure possible to hold the legislative branch hostage until the executive branch is brought under control, then there is no point to having a legislature at all

I asked the one high ranking policeman I saw on 5th Ave why there were so few police. He said “We did not expect anything like this. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve only got 44 officers out here — and it’s a great crowd, great event, no incidents.”

Cory Booker has come the closest of any Democrat this year to being the leader of the party, and maybe other Democrats will step up with as much verve and creativity to convince me otherwise.

BREAKING: I'm placing a hold on President Trump's nominee for U.S. Attorney in DC. For the past few weeks, Ed Martin has been a one-man wrecking ball. Threatening political opponents, firing public servants, and using his office to chill free speech. His nomination must be blocked.

Sit down @schumer.senate.gov. You don't deserve to be in the same room with @booker.senate.gov.

The Booker thing is fine; good even. It's better than anything Senate Dems have done to date. If theyd be doing stuff like this and using unanimous consent and other objections to slow nominations from day 1 we'd be in a better place as a country.

The issue of immigration has always been the center of gravity for Trump and MAGA. The conventional advice to Democrats has been to duck the issue. I think that's been wrong--but in any case there's now no choice. Democrats need to directly take on Trump's cruel and lawless attacks on immigrants.

Every Democratic Senator should be doing what @booker.senate.gov is doing right now, back-to-back, nonstop.

Hey @schumer.senate.gov - one more reason you should resign now. Today. You’ve lost the bubble.

REP. BRYAN STEIL: It shouldn't be lost on your viewers that George Soros has poured millions of dollars in BOLDUAN: I looked up the numbers. Soros has donated $2 million. By comparison, Elon Musk has donated more than $19 million.

Booker: 19 hours now

Hey folks! If you're in Florida and Wisconsin today, GET OUT AND VOTE!

It’s well known that I was on The Apprentice. We were all covered by NDAs at the time, but mine has now expired. And do I ever have some tea to spill. I’ll post it later today after consulting once again with my attorneys.

Things Democratic Senators could do that would be useful: - Withdraw unanimous consent from all Senate business until constitutional rule was restored - Refuse to vote for any legislation until constitutional rule was restored - Boycott as a caucus until constitutional rule was restored

🚨BREAKING: Federal court rules that the Pennsylvania date requirement for mail-in ballot violates the First and 14th Amendments. Counties cannot reject ballots from counting undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots. A HUGE victory for my law firm, our clients DSCC and DCCC and the voters of PA!

Benghazi this shit. Make this Senate investigation last months and drag them in for questioning every day.

Any member of the House can, by invoking Rule IX, force a floor vote on anything relating to impeachment. Johnson can't stop it. At most he can intervene with a resolution of his own to do something else with it, but that then requires a floor vote also, which becomes effectively the same thing.

To anyone who is not clear: The First Amendment protected Rumeysa Ozturk when she published her op-ed. The same way it has protected me. Rule of law means that we should be treated equally.

There's no gaslighting your way out of this.

NBC News: The Espionage Act contains a provision making it crime to disclose national defense secrets "through gross negligence."   The law does not require info be classified, because it was written before the classification system existed. The law refers simply to "national defense information."

I appreciate that Jeffrey Goldberg did not sit on this news for a book that he writes two years from now

They’re not going to get out of this by playing semantics. Sending detailed information about an upcoming military strike on unclassified channels (and even to the wrong guy) is wrong, reckless, and obviously a threat to American troops.

Hegseth sent operational details - very closely held. He and Gabbard said otherwise to Senate Intel. BOTH must resign immediately. If not, file articles of impeachment.

Well, they lied. Obviously.

THREAD: Trump just signed an EO about voter registration, but in 2023 the super-conservative Chief Judge Pryor in the 11th Circuit penned an opinion as to why Mark Meadows (and the president) have no role in supervising state elections, and therefore, cannot have his case moved to federal court. 1/

I mean very obviously Hegseth should resign, and if it were a Democratic administration this would be quickly be a consensus position.

Dropkick Murphys’ lead singer, Ken Casey: Dropkick Murphys has always been about standing with your friends, your family, and the things you believe in. Trump is the exact opposite of everything we sing about. He’s turned on America’s friends and allies—he’s a rat and a coward.
