It's almost like you've made a real conscious effort not to understand that at the end of ten years renters don't have anything to show for that money, any guaranteed stability, or any end of paying rent in sight

Shouldn't he have enough on his plate trawling ebay to replace all that Nazi memorabilia that went up in the fire last week?

I love my friends and I'm sure they wouldn't abandon me if things get rough but I'm not a fighter (told them flat; I'm short sighted, left handed and asthmatic- if I'm defense, we already dead) so I make myself useful in other ways; I do most of the things on that list or am actively learning them

"Americans will talk to a worker in China and become communist" says a lot about their confidence in capitalism and the ability of Americans not to be taken in by propaganda...

Or deeply depressed and lacking access to a vehicle, that was also a thing for me in the uk, which is generally the way it works in the US too- people using doordash are the people less likely to have 'I have access to a car' money

I've been using them for about 5 years now, honestly at their price point I haven't found anything better but if you do I'd be interested to hear about it!

Lenome notebooks; premium feature options, FP friendly (beware drying time with wet nibs on some of them though) and decently priced

💯 They do it with other figures too, the weeks of "what fountain pen does the king use" after he was filmed snapping when his leaked was so annoying to me; but then the only pen I ever bought after seeing someone else use it was the Defi ltd ed. featured in NBC Hannibal writing dinner invites

Weirdly my brain first computed this as being about Don Corleone telling a young Tom Hagen to be a lawyer and not the Woodie Guthrie song, but tbh it's the same idea

Oh no! I have just spent the last few hours realising that this post was not a coincidence. I stand by it, but feel like it's important to clarify that I hadn't been on the FP feed in over a week before I wrote this. And yes, it IS very telling that I included fountain pens in the list

Can't recommend another ink bottle but in the meantime use silicone grease on the outside of the neck to seal the lid on while you figure out a more permanent solution?
In search of a solution; this might be a good place to start researching bottles? www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/...

That said; The Well Appointed Desk is lovely, I can recommend them personally as I have had dealings to date. Politically they had a pride icon/flag up on the site banner when Goulet were having their moment last year, don't appear to sell Noodler or Robert Oster stuff and ship across the USA

...sat here trying to guess which Store Owner or Ink Creator you pegged as a bigot only to be told "This Isn't The Place For Politics" by someone recommending Ink With An Evil Jew On Its Label or Store Owner Who Thinks Gay People Should Just Die Already or some other third thing I don't know about

This is why i take so much pleasure in taking up space in hobby spaces that lean that way- I love Opera, fountain pens, old timey watch fixing and crochet and the casual bigots in those groups will just have to get comfortable with my queer, ND, mixed race presence there because I ain't leaving

I’ve said this before, but as a Gen Xer who was force fed “classic rock” songs — including Lola, Walk on the Wild Side, Get Back! which all have frank discussions of trans figures — it is just wild to hear Boomers complaining about how pop culture has only now “gone woke” with an LGBT message.

Yup. I was raised catholic, 18 years of it, but I got lucky when I told my parents that I wasn't interested, didn't want to be confirmed, and it wasn't for me at about 13 they shrugged and said I had to stay in the school because there was no other but they didn't force it

with beggars on the street outside the door. All of them do this, not just the Catholics. Some are more subtle about it than others but that is the broad strokes of how it works.

manipulate adults > $$$ > rinse and repeat. Nothing made this clearer to me than visiting the Vatican. Lapis lazuli and gold in the FLOOR paid for with the blood and sweat of poor people convinced the only way to avoid hell was to pay up because they didn't have the education to spot the scam +

Yup. It's all tied together and it's all about control and ultimately about money. Keep us down and uneducated > make motherhood the only option > ban birth control and abortions> more babies to uneducated birthing parents > parents too busy to think and easy to manipulate > babies become easy to +

It doesn't matter what you did to them, their argument is that god knows what you did and you know what you did and the suffering is evidence because god is always right and wouldn't punish you for nothing, which very conveniently absolves them of all responsibility to have even basic empathy.

Agree. They don't care about life, they care about breeding more stupid obedient followers who will keep giving them money
