Twitter/X is a cesspit of people like this. We know this. That’s why we left it. It would be appreciated if that content wasn’t then brought over here, otherwise what’s the point?

Why do you worry about people on Twitter?

Yup. It is what it is. I wish I could get out more often to see movies properly but sometimes you have to watch movies in less than ideal situations. Glad you enjoyed the movie. For the most part. Have a great evening

Cool. I’m a filmmaker, so I think I’m always mindful of the filmmaker who has made the film being critiqued and how I’d feel if someone was not watching it completely. Saying that, it’s not always possible to do that so I think I have to take a chill pill!!

Perhaps try watching it without social media? Films like this should be an immersive medium

It does beg the question why half of America were prepared to vote in someone who had already made a mess of their first term, caused an insurrection and is a convicted felon. That’s the big question for me

It’s one thing to not like who your President is. I get that. But being a misogynist and posting denigrating snipes at women? Not a great look mate

The endless handwringing about Trump or Musk really isn’t helping anyone. Perhaps it’s easier to do that than to look at the root problem of why the Democrats don’t get voted in vs a criminal?

Not sure yet how I feel about it. Some of the revisions felt very heavy handed and out of place. No denying the colourisation is a marvel though

My advice. Don’t peek.

My 9 year old (autistic) son jumped up during the post-credits and pointed at the screen and yelled “it’s ***!!!!!!”. He was so excited.

Again. If you take a “ceding ground” position rather than looking for common ground then you just become more and more entrenched. Elections around the world show these splits and divisions. Neither willing to vote for the other. It’s an endless cycle if we allow it.

Surely, if your starting position is assuming you have no common ground, then you’ll never find it?

If we just label people this way then the world will never heal, only become more divided. Surely more positive to find a way forward than being judgemental?

It’s less stressful if you don’t obsess over his every word and movement.

Given how many people voted for him, it may be worth considering the root causes rather than just lampooning the sock puppet?

His actions of penalizing China, Mexico and Canada give evidence to leaders/countries he bears grudges with. He’s not rationale. We are in a precarious position. We are low in the world economy & isolated due to BREXIT. Sadly, we need them more than they need us. Hence, the reality of diplomacy.

I think it’s easy to write on social media how you would do it because there are no consequences, no responsibilities. When the future of your country is in economic or defensive peril the stakes are incredibly high. I agree completely that the man is a cancer, but sadly there is a bigger picture

Yes. He’s a rapist and a great many intolerable things. He’s also going to be the leader of the most powerful country in the West. If we isolate ourselves from him then knowing how petty he is it could be damaging. This is basically the equivalent of holding your nose for 4 years and getting thru.

Odd isn’t it? The conflict of being grateful to someone but also despising them.

I’ll happily watch it spruced up, as long as the “new” thing doesn’t interfere with my appreciation of the show.

I never found it complicated. I just go with it. It’s earnest enough that it seems to earn the right for me to suspend my disbelief. I say this as someone whose wife frequently has to explain plots.

For me, you can’t replicate the immersion of cinema at home. Take horror… you’re in the dark in front of a giant screen. You can’t press pause or go make a coffee. You can either watch or leave. Or the infectious laughter of the audience when watching a comedy.

It helps a lot, right? You can’t change anything that appears in the news so why expose yourself to the daily negativity.

I’m an independent and what exasperates me is the name calling you get from both sides. Calling people stupid or lazy just raises barriers and means the country will never heal. Whilst I fear Trump2, I also feel like working towards life after, it needs careful and compassionate thought.

Rule of thumb - if you can change something you should care about it. If you can’t change something then try not to worry about it as it’s out of your control.

At some point, for things to stand any chance of healing, people will need to reach beyond their divisions and look for ways to cooperate. For me the high ground is compassion, rather than judgement.

I get it. But also taking a moral or ethical superiority position over others means there can never be reconciliation or healing. Understanding over judgement.

Perhaps if these people are left on their platform of hate rather than us amplifying it on other platforms it may lessen their impact? Just a thought…
