I started with Son dynamo and lights, but then got a deal on a Shimano 7 speed hub and dynamo hub, so have that fitted. Both have been great.
Due to a damaged wheel I’ve recently switched back to non dynamo bike. I’m not enjoying charging lights. 😩😂

There’s no excuse for older drivers though right? They’re just drivers, and we should all be aware of current road signs, markings, and the latest version of the Highway Code.
There’s not enough emphasis on compliance. It’s socially acceptable to break laws associated with driving.

After trying with various lights and often concerned about running flat, plus occasionally thefts I eventually invested in a modern hub dynamo with fixed front and rear lights.
They’re amazing, and the front light must make me look like a motor bike, as oncoming cars will often wait at pinch points

In cities where there isn’t likely to be investment available for badly needed service improvements AND free fares (sadly, that’s MOST cities), I strongly prefer strategic ridership-focused SERVICE IMPROVEMENTS, along with reasonable fares (and free fares for under 18, over 60, and low income). 3/
