I feel like a joker when the overall take seems to be that we fumbled the bag on a go for it year

I mean from a vibes standpoint we are okay ish. Surely lost the whole trade in the moment but like, better than trading him as a rental or letting him walk.

Like Canes are obviously giving up the best player in the deal but it being not for nothing helps us all cope a little better

I think that it going from "he doesn't want to sign in Carolina" to "he doesn't want to sign a deal" helps

No I mean, if he's not agreeing to a deal, I don't see him getting traded so might as well roll with it and the expectation is clear that he's not coming back unlike Guentzel

Feels like this is going be the standard "did not know the Canes were in on him" trade of the deadline

They're gonna go out and get like Mario Ferraro because he's the name on the big trade board that screams "CANE" and then maybe get both the Schenn brothers for the lols

Great as he is, he does not move the needle on this years team. While the Canes were expected to take a step back, with the Rangers imploding(ish) and Caps running away with it, Canes rode a hot start to second in the metro and I think national media is losing sight of that.

This is what my girlfriend said to me when she found me dialed in and productive at work on a Friday afternoon on the second day of vyvanse.

Stay as in 8 years or stay as in rest of the season? Realistically the long term plan look better with a certain veteran defenseman coming off the books. Wouldn’t be surprised if Mikko wants to go to a good team at the trade deadline.

I know the material reasons for the rise of fascism. I also think another reason - which doesn’t get talked about as much because it’s embarrassing that humans can be that naive - is that when you are financially comfortable but bored, abstract cruelty can give you a sense of purpose.

I stand corrected. That’s the one game I did not watch.

You're rich and only care about yourself? You hate people different than you? OK, I get that, I guess. I don't know how to make you understand that you're supposed to care about people other than yourself.
But the football-spiking and touchdown-dancing over others' misery is some sick shit.

Is there a gap with AI where the benefit to the consumer is not as expansive or obvious as PC, Internet, iPhone? AWS is an outlier in that in enabled other tech to reach consumers. GenAI seems to have plateaued for now and the useful stuff that AI can do is not obvious to general consumers of tech.

Offsides reviews in hockey look downright tame compared to what gets called with VAR

I thought it was informative for the start of the game but no the horrors persist. It’s the Bally sports score bug but worse.
