The answer is that you don't care. Those of us, who are so wishing to just survive another day. You haven't the slightest the inclination (because you're such cowards).

But honestly, why should someone, such as I, have to feel this degree of distress?

I'm a sad dude. There's a good chance I'll delete all this, although y'all deserve it. But of course, it don't matter. Enjoy your day if you can. Wish me luck, which means, think of me. I've apparently gone full Kayne.

And none of you will even care. You'll sit there and read, and then once I make it home, you'll feel a great sense of my victory as having made it home. You'll experience the triumph, but none of the suffering.

And so, here I sit. This was supposed to be an enjoyable vacation with my family. And here I sit, feeling worse than only a few of you could relate to.

Keep in mind all doctors are unwilling to prescribe the meds that would help (benzos). So what's a person to do?

If you're not going to stand up to the destruction of our government and actually do something, then please just retire.

Listen to your constituents! Stop acting like you're the wise man holding back the flood. Stop capitulating.

And apparently you're happy to help them. I really hope you don't get reelected.

Resign. Your recent actions make clear why you keep losing so badly.

Who are these Democrats you speak of?

By your reply, it seems as if you didn't even read what I wrote.

The country decided it was more interested in their own pocketbooks, than they were in reconstructing the south or protecting the rights of freed slaves. Reconstruction didn't fail due to the south or the CSA, it failed because the north stopped caring.
comment in response to post
After the civil war the country was economically in limbo due to the South's economic model having been dismantled. This, westward expansion, and a skew of other factors caused economic hardship during reconstruction.

It was Lincoln's death and Johnson's racism that brought the reconstruction coalition together, which is why the most headway in reconstruction took place during Grant's presidency. There was zero momentum for reconstruction before Lincoln's death.
comment in response to post
Ok, fine. Congressional Republicans had no stomach for reconstruction before Lincoln died. There was maybe a few radical Republicans, but no almost no one, including Lincoln, was pushing for expansive reconstruction.
comment in response to post
I'm not gonna do this. You're already moving the goal posts around. Cheers.
comment in response to post
My dude, you're just wrong. I'm not even going to go through the effort of explaining it. There is a ton of scholarships and primary sources that say so.
comment in response to post
Of course there was talk of reconstruction before the war was over, but it's just plain incorrect to suggest reconstruction ended due to Lincolns death or Johnson's presidency. Grant's presidency was one of the most expensive and consequential periods of reconstruction.
comment in response to post
This actually gets most of the history wrong. Reconstruction didn't end until 1877, with some of the largest events taking place during Grant's presidency. All of this well after Lincolns death. There's a good argument to be made that the assassination actually increased reconstruction's reach.

The number one thing on my mind is how much we need new Dem leadership.
