The answer I got was that it was disorganized with a lot of unhelpful "not my problem" responses to issues ranging from simple fixes in the unit or larger problems in the service. That and it takes forever to get in, longer to get out. All anecdotal obvs.

I've looked into it, I have a transferable skill (medic). Talked to a friend in the reserves who said it's a mess... Hopefully this push lends some urgency to the forces on an organizational level. I'm still on the fence but will go wherever I'm needed if things pop off.

I grieve for them and all those already lost to the cruelty of man. We are selfish and petty and easily led. Modern shame is an irony, felt only by those who deserved better.

I'm rethinking the whole "if everyone you meet today is an asshole, look in a mirror" parable these days.

It's like Canadian Braveheart over here.

History will remember him warmly.

I know enough about history to tell you that if you think a letter writing campaign or traditional protests are going to turn this around, you're delusional.

You have unfettered access (for now). Fascists don't leave peacefully. Certainly don't expect this state or judiciary to protect you from those same brownshirts. You guys need to mobilize and face some water cannons... The apathy is insane.

Then you drag them out of their ivory towers and take your country back. You're the most heavily armed citizens in the world. Stop making excuses.

Get off your asses and go punch a Nazi.

Still waiting. General strike. It's nothing but talk with you guys and the entire world hangs in the balance. It's a disgrace. South Korea squashed their tin pot dictator in what.... A few days? Stop talking and posting and go storm your capital.

I agree with the sentiment but not with respect to "any other employment contract". When we consider surrogacy as employment we introduce a metric to defining childbirth as a commodity. Capitalism should never enter the equation.
comment in response to post
I agree with a caveat. With respect, the celebrity made her surrogacy public. No one violated her privacy, she broadcasted it herself. Given her status I think it's a fair pivot to discuss how surrogacy may be abused as a matter of convenience or exploitive for those with financial advantages.
comment in response to post
To be clear ... I disagree with the author's claim that "If some reasons for surrogacy are morally unacceptable, then so is the practice itself". My personal belief is the practice should be limited to those who are incapable of having children, and that surrogate mothers have robust advocacy.
comment in response to post
I read the column and thought the points it made regarding unregulated surrogacy were fair. Just curious about the outrage I'm seeing in these posts and whether or not anyone wanted to defend the practice of surrogacy with respect to the massive potential for exploitation of the birthing mother?

Max Primorac (Project 2025):"The next conservative administration should scale back USAID's global footprint [...] It should deradicalize USAID's programs and structures and build on the conservative reforms instituted by the Trump administration". This is the narrative used to justify seizure.

They literally published their playbook. Project 2025 telegraphs everything.

Race war =\= class war. I agree it would be great to see but I'm not holding my breath for the undereducated millionaires to rise to the occasion. (Undereducated on account of the insane time commitment their sport/training demands)

Can we get an official edit on that fElon reference in First Contact?

You guys defunded education under Reagan and the rest is... Your 80s greed generation sure raised some horrible children. It's painful to watch.

Colorado Avalanche, 2022. The commissioner has had his finger on the American expansion scales for forever.

Speak for yourself... Hard to love what you can't trust and there's over 76* million people down there that showed their true colors to us.

Cowards. If they're so proud of their little coup then let's make sure we know who to give credit to.

I would rather buy from China at this point. Nothing short of a revolution from you guys will change my mind. You let a bunch of racists run the most powerful country in the world.

Trudeau isn't doing anything but letting the orange clown feel bigly. All that he announced was already in motion. To keep pushing for tariffs as the smaller economy would be equally dumb. Canada knows what's up. Households won't be buying anything American anytime soon. We hold grudges/hate bullies

His party is actually climbing in the polls... So, pretty good I'd say.

The trust is gone. I hope Canada learns from this and never allows itself to become this dependent on one country ever again. Why play this game every 4 years when the other team breaks all the rules and owns all the refs?

I hate Dougie and all the Ford ilk but the photo op sends a message and gets clicks/views. I'm up for anything that moves the electorate in this province to buy Canadian... And grateful he's not playing the Alberta card and kissing the ring. We need to strongly pressure him to dump starlink next.
comment in response to post
Political animal that guy, he's always been crafty like a fox. Never voting for him but he picks his photo ops well.
comment in response to post
It's only a Liberal party leader candidate's suggestion. Nothing doing yet.
comment in response to post
These kinds of action would be a lot more effective if Dougie didn't just weaken the LCBO's buying power in our province by legislating the sale of alcohol by basically everyone. Gas stations, grocery stores and your local convenience store aren't obligated to match any of these moves.

I would love to imagine if we used the lost trade to build our country up, welcomed all who wanted to be a part of it and trade with everyone but them. There aren't many better areas to survive dramatic climate change either. That's why we're cooked... If we go hard and they invade that's it

The Us military power is insane. They'll light us all up and then some. Total global opposition is the only chance against them in a shooting war. I think they're all nuts enough to do it .
