Waltz's distract-by-smearing tactic is both dishonest and completely stupid. Surely even Republicans can find a better National Security Adviser?

So the guy leading RFK Jr.'s vaccine-autism study? A total quack who was previously charged for practicing medicine without a license for using chemical castration drugs on autistic children.

🚨 WOW: Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice says the Russians "undoubtedly" have all of the information shared on the Trump administration's Signal texts.

“That her political speech and association in support of Palestinian rights jeopardizes U.S. foreign policy is a preposterous proposition,” wapo.st/4kZNGxr

Applies to Senate Republicans as well...they could even have succeeded in rejecting the nominees!

Strange and scary, until "The reality became clear: Ice detention isn’t just a bureaucratic nightmare. It’s a business. These facilities are privately owned and run for profit" www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

NONE of this is normal

We have arrived at the point where Iran’s supreme leader is critical of the Trump Admin’s record on civil liberties and human rights.

Trump says he will withhold federal tax dollars to Maine colleges unless the Gov of Maine personally apologizes to him.

It’s far worse than this. A revenue loss of 0.5 trillion per year removes benefits amounting to $4000 per household per year (on average, roughly independent of SE status). You lose unless your taxes are reduced by more than $4K! Only the top 20% see that net benefit.

"Things have changed"...and not in a good way

Kari Lake sent me this reply to my request for comment on the lawsuit filed against her: “Kari Lake does not grant interviews or interact with disreputable ‘news’ outlets like NPR.”

The wealthiest man in the world has fully purchased the federal government of the United States. This is one of the most extraordinary crises in the history of this country and you need to ask whether your elected representatives are acting like it.

America is already a pariah nation to the world

“If even a dozen Republicans in Congress had the capacity to stand up to Trump, this would be a very different ballgame,” www.nytimes.com/2025/03/20/w...

JFC, why are you lowering the goalposts FOR HIM? “Court orders don’t count unless it’s the SUPREME Court” is already the end of the rule of law.

Our Dear Leader “is a virtuoso and his musical choices represent a brilliant palette of vibrant colors when others often paint in pale pastels.” Would be funny if it weren’t so sick.

Le Monde reporting that a French scientist traveling to Houston to attend a conference was denied entry to US after a search of his phone & computer revealed messages critical of Trump's science cuts, "which [says CPB] conveyed hatred of Trump & could be qualified as terrorism". Computer confiscated

While Musk sells cars on the White House lawn, DOGE shuts down Social Security and other federal offices in San Diego and across the country. It's not efficiency, it's destruction. Workers, families, and seniors pay the price.

Well, the UC system does seem more reliable

Trump is losing. Federal judges are ruling based on law and not politics, as evidenced by case after case after case:

Netanyahu's onslaught with US and Israel complicit open.substack.com/pub/zeteo/p/...

Ask yourself: Why would anyone who wasn’t an asset of the Russian government do this? Why would any decent human being do this?

"The finding that Mr. Musk had personally, and unlawfully, overseen the dismantling of the agency offered a firm rejection of his operation’s authority." www.nytimes.com/2025/03/18/u...

Yes, just one or two prominent Republicans would be enough to start the process of dismembering the Trump cult.

W. Bush should speak up for PEPFAR and USAID if for nothing else. He might even vaguely untarnish his legacy in doing so. "Yes, the man wreaked havoc in the Middle East; no excuses for that; he also revolutionized foreign aid in Africa"=a complicated legacy.

Our greatest need is for just a few Republicans in Congress to acknowledge this openly...

Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.

Unless things change quickly — Congressional Dems, get moving!! — NIH will be left a shell of itself in a few months. And that will be Trump’s fault. NIH has a stellar reputation worldwide. The Trump NIH looks like it will be a toilet. Don’t blame the NIH people.

The EPA plans to fire as many as 1,155 chemists, biologists, toxicologists and other scientists, ultimately eliminating its scientific research arm. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/17/c...

I was at USIP tonight to conduct congressional oversight over DOGE’s break in. I spoke with Acting President & CEO Moose. USIP is an independent, non-profit entity and I will work to stop DOGE’s illegal power grab.

The moment of crisis: Trump intentionally violates multiple court orders open.substack.com/pub/roberthu...

Pure Trump baloney! LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, W. Bush, Obama, and Biden all used auto pens based on legal opinions from the office of legal counsel of the justice department. If Trump never used one, it would be amazing, totally inefficient! www.nytimes.com/2025/03/17/u...

I'm at a loss for words to explain just how stupid and reckless this is.

"It’s possible that future generations will look back on this scourge and see something else — not just what was destroyed but also what was born." open.substack.com/pub/robertre...

It’s extremely alarming that Trump openly defying a court order is being covered as “Trump decides to not follow it” and not “Trump illegally defies court.” Or in the Washington Post’s case, not even mentioned at all
