de minimis itself is also a topic to think about because there are current plans by the government to change what qualifies as de minimis and whether the value with lower
cbp is accepting comments on this change until the end of March so no change yet

there's also a grace period for packages that shipped before Feb 1st and will arrive before March 7th but that in itself is a whole other thing

currently the usps is not set-up for to handle clearances and collecting duties on millions of shipments a day
other shipping companies will have to employ a large brokerage team
currently almost no one is classifying small packages correctly
if a company has to classify items? brokerage fee.

example: acrylic charms
hts code: 3926.40.90
base duty rate: 5.3%
section 301: 25%
new law: 10%
duty owed on a $100 order of acrylic charms =
$100 x (5.3% + 25% + 10%) = $40.30

4. during t's last presidency, he issued section 301 duties which meant any shipment from China would have 25% owed duties on top of it
5. de minimis packages were able to bypass the 25% and we'd owe $0
6. the new +10% increase isn't just 10% because now de minimis is revoked from all CN imports
