This is still my favorite dril tweet ever I think

Now more than ever: no gods, no masters.

Anyway here's how it played in the press last time anything went this far, just for reference

Not that anyone cares but a bunch of senior doj officials resigning over a corrupt instruction to drop a case was what triggered the Nixon impeachment, and in the Trump era it's just the 2pm scandal of a random Thursday and every day now has ~3 such scandals that would have ended any prior admin

It’s a big time for people who saw a 10-minute YouTube video on something one time and now fancy themselves subject matter experts

Are the Gen Z podcast bros who broke for Trump ready to enlist and risk their lives to realize his fever dream in Gaza? It’s a legitimate possibility!

Ignore the media headlines reporting that freezing federal spending or shuttering federal agencies “raise questions” or “push boundaries.” It’s an anticonstitutional lawbreaking spree.

Good time to see which people are genuine conservatives vs those who are happy to go along with destroying checks and balances for short-run goals

Conservative budget wonks (Manhattan Instiutte, Tax Foundation) confirming that this is a consittutional crisis. Not liberal hysteria. Happening right now.

Neither the mainstream press nor our political system seem to have digested the fact that the U.S. president is trying to illegally annex a NATO ally using economic coercion.

I don’t think I’ll ever live long enough to understand the ethical rot that has developed in the U.S. over the past decade. I am genuinely saddened by what my country has become.

Jesuit Priest 👇🏽

If there is any doubt that tariffs are passed through to consumers, the cost of propane to heat my house just went up by the amount of the tariff

A government that deliberately abandons the rule of law is not morally entitled to its protections.

The first Senators to actually do anything about the Trump admin

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired ➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen ➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded ➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees ➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years Making America Great Again!

Normalizing spelling out what people actually mean when they cite DEI rather than letting them hide behind the safe cover of a euphemism that's been sapped of meaning

I’m with others who have pointed this out: force Trump, et al. to clarify what they mean when they blame DEI efforts. Because anything less than that just allows them to blame minorities and women without saying it expressly!

the headline is not “trump blames deadly plane crash on DEI” but “trump seizes on deadly plane crash to attack minorities”

Libs replying to this saying it's too soon to be saying things about the crash, while Trump is in the WH briefing room already blaming Biden and DEI for it, is the reason Democrats are losing the messaging war

If the FAA director got fired over a business beef AND there was an air traffic controller hiring freeze despite huge shortages AND a chaotic blitz to hollow out federal bureaucracy, and then within a week the first American airliner crashes in 16 years, you would be insane not to talk about it all.

Concentration camps preceded extermination camps by several years. They began in Germany just as administratively, just as innocuously, as this. It's important to understand the historical track we are on.

We're finally dismantling the federal government! Sure hope it doesn't serve essential functions that I've taken for granted my whole life

How can you sanction a country you can't even spell.

It's extra annoying that the country is being run by several guys who couldn't make it through an interview for a regular job because they're too weird and don't know how to do anything

The whole American mood atm is yeah having unprecedented prosperity and security painstakingly built up over 100+ years is great and all but what if we just burned it all down

I don’t know what’s going to transpire during the next few years but I can’t shake the ominous feeling that decades from now people are going to look back on this time and genuinely wonder what the hell Americans were doing

You've just been thrown to your death by the Beatles.

Things are so grim

A classic materialist reading here is that 2020 gave American tech executives their first real taste of worker militancy, and it scared them so much that they decided they needed to move into the political sphere to crush it.

Every time I learn about some new public idiot it turns out they went to harvard

To me they’ll always be the San Diego Chargers

hey all, conservative commentator here and just a heads up…if you followed me for my expertise on vaccines, inflation or the ukraine war, gonna pivot to being an expert on firefighting and forest management for awhile

Can't imagine the youth will be too bummed about tik tok being banned when they can still read the blue sky posts of late nineties alternative rock band eve6

Drawing up the schematics for a Giant Slide Network that takes Louisiana floodwaters to California drought zones. The only thing in the way of my plan? Wokeness.

Whenever something bad happens in a blue state the next four years we’re just going to hear a bunch of smack-talking from POTUS about how it’s justified or the consequence of some unrelated policy. Real leadership, that.

Oh man, I forgot about how we have to listen to the dumbass expound on natural resource management as if he knows what the hell he’s talking about

I’m tired of American society promoting mediocrity over genius and the most highbrow example of this I can think of is Screech from Saved by the Bell. I am also incredibly wealthy and have political power. All of these things are unrelated.

Operation Desert Storm

scully: it doesn’t make any sense mulder, out of nowhere he started showing empathy and a base level curiosity about the life experience of others mulder [tossing a manila folder on the desk]: ever hear of the woke mind virus?

There was a time when we’d wonder what America would’ve looked like if Gore had been declared the winner over Bush in 2000. Now we wonder what America would’ve looked like if Bernie had been the Democratic nominee over Hillary in 2016.

Kinda crazy to recall The Onion’s folk hero version of Joe Biden in the early 2010s with all that’s come to pass these past few years

Can’t wait to see Trump’s next terrible AG nominee!

Is Bam Margera in line for a cabinet position or no?
